'Where is this place? Where am I? Ah... I am tired. I wonder what happened. Am I dead? Did he die? I hope so. I hope they escaped before anything... light? Is it really over for me? What is that figu—ah... L..inda? It's you, I have so much to say.'

"Go back! It's too early for you to be here!"

'Go back where? Why can't I talk? Wait... no, don't push me. Why are you crying? Please don't cry. Stay with me.'

"Linda! Agh! Ouch, ouch..." Kasumi sat up quickly, only to immediately wince and double over, clutching her injuries. The pain shot through her like shards of glass.

'My body feels heavy. This smell of blood... please tell me he is dead.'

Kasumi gathered her strength and stood up, checking if the others had left before the explosion. Blood seeped through her torn clothes as she struggled to remain upright. Her surroundings were a chaotic mess of debris and lingering smoke, the aftermath of the battle evident in every shattered fragment.

Suddenly, a soft voice broke the eerie silence, startling her. "Oh! There you are! Finally, you made an appearance. I was worried you would die without ever breaking the curse," the voice said, filled with gentle concern.

"Huh? Who is there?!" Kasumi's heart pounded as she looked around frantically, but she couldn't find the source of the voice. It seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once.

"Fear not, for I have no ill intentions toward you. I am but your loyal knight who came to escort you back to where you rightfully belong, my queen."

She still looked around but didn't find him. The voice was disembodied, echoing in the empty space around her.

"Are you a cosplayer? Uh, this isn't really the best place. I think you have the wrong person? A... Anyways, I have to go now. I hope you find your... uh... queen?"

Kasumi scanned the area one last time, but when she didn't find anyone, she sighed and walked away from the debris. Her steps were shaky, each one sending jolts of pain through her battered body. She bumped into something—or rather, someone.

"Where do you think you are going? We just met, you can't just leave me. I searched for years."

"I really, and I mean REALLY, think you have the wrong person. I don't even know who you are." She stepped back and looked at him. The first thing she noticed was his heterochromic eyes, one blue and one red. His jet-black hair caught her attention, a stark contrast to the usual colors of the Light Empire. "...Black, you aren't from here... Dark Empire." She mumbled the last part as it clicked in her mind. Panic surged through her, and she pushed him with all her might before starting to run as fast as she could.

"Running again, you go... It's fine, I will find you wherever you go." He walked around the place for a while, surveying the destruction. "Before I forget, there was a rat I had to deal with."

He leaned near the almost unrecognizable body of the man, putting his hand softly on the dying man's forehead. "Thank you, for making her unlock it." Immediately, the body exploded into pieces. Blood splattered over the debris and the stranger's clothes. His red eye shone in the dark alley as he wiped the blood from his face with a calm, almost indifferent expression.

'What was that about? How did a Dark Empire person come to the Light's? The security is doomed... Ah, this is it, Alipta Forest, this is the best place I can go.'

Stepping into the forest, Kasumi's surroundings slowly turned white with infinite doors, each labeled in an ancient language. The symbols glowed faintly, casting an eerie light in the dim forest.

"Soleil Lake... it seems clean, and there is a forest so I can escape after I clean my wounds," she muttered to herself, looking at the image portrayed through the door. The scene showed a tranquil lake surrounded by dense woods, a stark contrast to the chaos she had just escaped.

Kasumi stepped closer, taking a deep breath and putting her hand through the portal. She couldn't see her hand, but as she pulled it back, it wasn't harmed, so she assumed it was safe. She took another shaky breath before quickly stepping in.

Everything seemed perfect until gravity pulled her down, and she felt herself plunge into the water. The cold water engulfed her, shocking her system. Panic set in as she struggled to orient herself, kicking desperately to reach the surface.

"Damn!" She tried to swim to the shore that wasn't far, but it felt like something was pulling her deeper. The water only increased the bleeding, and the burning sensation wasn't helping. Her strength waned, and her vision blurred. She fought to stay conscious, but the darkness crept in, swallowing her whole.

Kasumi awoke with a start, gasping for air. She found herself leaning against a tree on the grassy shore of Soleil Lake, her body aching but her leg wound inexplicably healed. The serene sound of water lapping at the shore contrasted with the turmoil inside her.

She looked around, disoriented. Her clothes were still soaked, but the immediate danger seemed to have passed. She winced as she tried to sit up, her muscles protesting.

Fragments of memories flitted through her mind—blurry images of the black-haired man pulling her out of the water, his expression unreadable, his voice muffled. But when she looked around, he was nowhere to be seen.

'Did he save me? Why would he do that?' she wondered, confusion mixing with exhaustion. She needed to keep moving, to find a safe place to rest and gather her thoughts.

Kasumi stood slowly, testing her leg. It was surprisingly steady, the pain gone. She took a deep breath and began walking into the woods, the dense foliage providing a welcome cover.

The forest was silent, save for the rustling of leaves and the distant calls of birds. Each step felt like an immense effort, her body still recovering from the ordeal. She pushed through, driven by a need to survive.

As she walked, her vision began to blur again. Her head felt heavy, and her steps faltered. She stumbled, catching herself on a tree. 'I can't faint again... I need to keep moving,' she thought, but her body had other plans.

The last thing she saw before everything went black was a flash of yellow hair shining like the sun. **•☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾•**
