(M/N)

You stared at your feet sweating and panting after a one on one practice with Rin. He's always overdoing it.

Looking up you notice him right above you staring you down in an annoyed matter.

A cool wind surrounding you both as the sun set long ago and a downcast atmosphere befell.

"let's be done for today"

He paused, taking note of his surroundings. At this point the goal wasn't even in clear sight. I'm sure we would've been here till the crack of dawn if i hadn't stopped him.

We shared the the same drive but sometimes he doesn't know when to quit.

I stayed over at Rin's often. His brother Sae left for Spain a year ago and he hadn't been the same since.

We were each others only ones. His parents didn't really pay him much regard; my dad wasn't in my life, and with my mom often away on business, i was frequently home alone.

Us three were practically inseparable as children so when his brother left it felt as if a piece of a puzzle had been lost.

Did all the time and fun we had playing together for years mean nothing to Sae..?

How could he just up and leave like that. It felt as though the dream we all shared had just been set aside by him.

Sae decided to go his own route and prioritize his own growth.

His goodbye was very brief, out of nowhere revealing his offer to play for Madrid and that he had accepted it. Nowhere did he ask for our input or how we felt about it. Rin remembered the scene and the betrayal he felt very clearly .

How could he forget?

(Rin)

Rin valued his friendship with you very much. Playing soccer with you made time go by quickly because you understood each other.

The soccer team you guys were on centered solely around Rin and you because the others just couldn't keep up with your passes and selfish playing. The other players detested you both for it but did it really matter..?

As long as you led your team to victory, the coach didn't care for how you played.

"Give me a piggyback ride"

" You can walk on your own just fine"

"Well after that grueling extra long practice you put me through, this is the least you could do for me. My legs are practically limp." (M/N) complained

Rin sighed and eventually caved picking you up,   You carefully wrapped your arms around his nape with your legs safely secured around his waist.

He began the walk in the direction of his house with you half lidded, breathing faintly into his back. He had a soft spot for you.

His brother leaving developed abandonment issues within him. You stayed by his side, practiced with him, and made him feel a feeling unknown to him. It didn't really have a name but he knew he didn't want to let it go. He doesn't ever want to experience that feeling of desertion again.

Rin chuckles to himself quietly after noticing you've seemingly fallen asleep. He reached the front door and caught sight of a small letter on the porch.

'What the- who's this for?' he thought to himself, bending to pick it up, careful not to drop you.

'To : Rin Itoshi. From: Blue Lock.
