their topic of discussion for breakfast was the way yuji looked at cherry. it was like he'd never even seen a woman when he was in her presence.
"i feel bad for whatever girl he marries." nobara spoke, as she took a bite of her pancakes.
"don't." maki sipped her coffee.
"why not?" megumi questioned, crossing his arms.
"cause she's his future wife?" panda guessed.
"because no woman is ever gonna consider him to be a husband." maki corrected, which made toge laugh so hard he started coughing.
"c'mon. they're totally getting married." panda argued, sitting up straight like it was the most heated debate of 2024.
"maybe it'll be a beach wedding?" nobara suggested, now imagining herself in a bridesmaid gown.
"you guys disgust me." megumi eyed his friends critically.
"it's valid! i think they will. yuji's come this far, i doubt he'll give up just over one stupid fight." nobara said, burying her fork into her pancakes.
"you're right. perseverance is key." panda grinned.
"that's not perseverance. that's annoyance." toge quipped, looking up from his phone.
"he would die for her." maki thought out loud. "that's as romantic as it is worrying."
"everything he does for her is like that." megumi agreed.
"how long have they not been on speaking terms?" nobara tilted her head.
"a day. doubt they can go any longer." toge spoke up.
the group went silent when cherry and yuji entered the kitchen at the same time, sending glares without any real harm at each-other.
they'd gotten over the real annoyance. it's flared up again when cherry had spilled paint on him in art class accidentally, but then died down again.
he couldn't stay mad at her for long, anyways,
yuji noticed the look she was giving him from across the kitchen island. "aren't you friendly?" he muttered under his breath as he made himself a cup of coffee.
"aren't you funny looking?" cherry mocked under bis breath.
he looked up at her and glared, his nose scrunching up as his eyes narrowed. this annoyed expression didn't really make him look angry. "look, he's so red!" nobara pointed out.
