As I prepared for the day's important tasks, my mind raced with anticipation. If all went according to the plan today, I might find the painter.
Leaving the maids' chamber, I made my way to the queen's quarters. Sunanda and the other attendants were already bustling around, assisting the queen in getting ready for the day's meetings.
"Are you ready, Your Highness?" I asked respectfully, stepping into the room.
The queen looked up from her preparations, a hint of confusion in her eyes. "Huh?"
I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. Despite the queen's education and intelligence, she often hesitated to voice her opinions or suggestions, even when she knew they could benefit the kingdom.
"Your Highness," I began gently, "you have brilliant ideas and insights. The kingdom would benefit greatly if you shared them openly, without fear."
Sunanda paused in her tasks, watching with interest as I continued.
"You know the solutions to many of our problems," I continued, trying to infuse my words with encouragement. "If you speak up and present your ideas confidently, others will listen. The king values your opinions, and your voice carries weight."
The queen regarded me with a mix of surprise and uncertainty. "But what if..."
I interrupted gently but firmly. "No 'what ifs', Your Highness. Trust in yourself and your knowledge. Take that first step, and you'll see how powerful your voice can be."
Sunanda smiled warmly, nodding in agreement. "She's right, Your Highness. We believe in you."
I offered the queen a reassuring smile. "You have the strength within you, Your Highness. Today, let's show everyone what you're capable of."
The queen took a moment to absorb my words, her expression thoughtful. Finally, she nodded, a newfound determination shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Gayatri. I will try."
I smiled, as I felt a bit relieved. She needed to understand herself. Her strengths and weaknesses. Maybe, going out of my way to encourage her won't hurt right?!

As the day's events unfolded, I found myself accompanying the queen and Sunanda to the royal courtyard. We waited patiently for the king's arrival, the anticipation palpable in the air.
When the king finally appeared, his presence commanding attention, he caught sight of the queen and winked playfully at her. She blushed and looked away, her demeanor suddenly shy and demure.
Internally, I couldn't help but chuckle at the unexpected display of affection. "Smooth move, You jerk," I muttered under my breath, earning a curious glance from the queen.
The king approached her, saying something that caused her cheeks to turn an even deeper shade of red. He gently kissed her forehead before taking her hand and assisting her into the waiting carriage.
Sunanda and I were also offered carriages for the journey, but I insisted that I could walk, feeling strong and VERY MUCH capable!!
"Gayatri, please," Sunanda insisted gently, "the place we're going is quite far from the royal grounds. You should take the carriage."
I shook my head stubbornly. "I'm strong, Sunanda. I can handle the walk."
Just then, General approached. "Let her walk, Sunanda. Let's see how strong she really is."
"Oh, says the one who had bruises on his face after I smacked the shit out of him." I smirked as I saw his demeanor change into a rather worked up one.
