The Shadow Like Me by 123hikibakas

Title 5/5
I like this title a lot. I think it’s unique and gives a lot of character to the story. Something about it just sparks my interest.

Cover 5/5
This is a wonderful cover. I like the picture of Taehyung staring at himself in the mirror and the way it’s edited to give off that mysterious vibe. The font is easy to read and see on the cover, so it is all very visually appealing.

Description 10/15
There is not much description here. All it says is that Kim Taehyung was afraid of his own reflection. That really does not tell the readers anything about the overall plot or what this means in terms of what we can expect from the story. It is extremely vague.

Plot 10/10
This plot had me emotional from the very first chapter. Knowing the sadness of the main character had me feeling sad right long with her. I think this is a super unique plot and it’s presented well. It held my interest and I always wanted to know what was going to happen next.

Grammar and Vocab 6/10
There were spelling and grammatical errors throughout the story. One thing that seemed very consistent was that there were many times when there should have been a space after a period before starting your next sentence, but there wasn’t one. You are also missing commas and periods at the end of your dialogue tags.

Character Development 15/15
I think the characters in this story all developed well. We even get some back story that explains why they are the way they are, such as the sadness that Ari feels after losing her lover and son. I think you portrayed all of the emotions well and they were realistic.

Writing Style 10/10
Great writing style. It’s easy to follow the flow of the plot and I do enjoy books that separate their chapters up into multiple paragraphs. It makes for an easier read in my opinion. I like how you differentiate between what is description, what is dialogue, and what the characters are internally thinking.

Story Pace 10/10
The story moved at a perfect pace. It was not too slow or too fast and made sense along the way.

Feelings 10/10
I mentioned above how you portray the emotions of your characters well. You also do a great job at invoking emotions from the readers. Like I said before, the very first chapter already had my heart hurting for Ari as she sat there remembering how she had lost her son and lover. Throughout the story you give great detail to feelings which, in return, pulls those same feelings right out of your readers.

Overall Enjoyment 8/10
I enjoyed the plot and the way your portray emotions in this book. I think the only thing that really pulled away from it was seeing the punctuation errors throughout the entire story.

Total Score 89/100

Tell me a lie by @Whostolemehjam

Title 3/5
It’s easy to remember because it is short. I am not sure if it goes with the overall theme of the story.

Cover 4/5
I love the aesthetic of the cover. The picture you used of Taehyung is super cute and goes well with the color of the font. The only thing is the cover does not have the name of the author on it.

Description 5/15
I am going to give this a rather low rating because the description does not tell me really anything about the story. All it says is that a girl was friends with a guy named Kim Taehyung and that’s it. This does not describe what that friendship is like at all and what it is we can expect in terms of the plot.

Plot 7/10
It’s a cute plot, and represents young love and friendships well. There was just not much overall detail to the story so the plot felt like it was lacking in creativity and description.
