Prologue.
He was watching her from across the street. He had been keeping tabs on her ever since she was born. She was his every thing. She didn't know it yet, but she was his and his only. She was not her boyfriend's. She was his. He chuckled darkly to himself. He should have killed the boy when he had the chance.
She was pure white, but tainted with a darkness she could never escape. Him.
*Jade's POV*
She got the feeling she was being watched.
She looked behind her. No one.
She looked across the street. Nope.
She saw some families in the windows of stores laughing or smiling at each other. She wished she still had that. Her heart longed for it. Her family had died in a car accident two years ago. She tried pushing her dead family out of her head. She didn't want to break down crying in the middle of the sidewalk.
She had taken her family for granite. As they say, 'You don't know what you have until you've lost it.' She frowned. She didn't want to think about this anymore.
She put her mind to something else. She looked down at her dressy clothes and smoothed them down self-consciously. She was going to an interview for a job. She must look her best. She looked absolutely stunning in her black flats, and her silky black dress that came to her knees and its sleeves were see-through. Her straight black hair was flowing down to her waist, and her piercing green eyes stunned anyone who walked by.
But she did not think she was beautiful at all. She thought she was normal. She thought wrong.
Very wrong.
