                                                                                         XAVIER

As I headed to the library, anxious to retrieve the book I had left there in the morning—one that no one should see—a girl suddenly stepped into my path. Her eyes locking onto mine.

"Hey," she began, her voice wasn't that loud but it was enough to attract the attention of a few students nearby. They paused, curious to see what was happening.

She come closer and boldly placed her hand my chest. I raised an eyebrow questioning myself of what she was trying to do.

Despite her actions and the loud whispers around us, I remained calm, not wanting to make the scene bigger.

She looked at me with a smirk, then she said while moving her hand down to my hand ... disgusting, "I just wanted to tell you that I like you and I think we could have some fun tonight".

That girl winked at the end of her sentence if she only knew how irritated I am right now. I have expected that from the beginning but she was too much.

The students around us went silence, their eyes darting between the two of us. I could feel their anticipation, their eagerness to watch the unfolding drama.

I remained silent for a moment, letting the tension build. Her confident smirk wavered slightly under my harsh gaze.

I did not come here to play those games but there's no harm in playing as well. I walked to her with a smile closing the gap between us. Leaning in close, I whispered softly in her ear, "No".

Her eyes widened in surprise as the smile faded from my face, replaced by a steady gaze that bore into hers.

Her expressions shifted from surprised into anger. She looked so mad.

"How could you reject me!!? Do you even know who I am?" she screamed, her voice echoing through the hallway. The students around us gasped, some whispering to each other.

I rolled my eyes, "Who cares who you are?" I muttered under my breath, ignoring her entirely. I turned on my heel and continued towards the library, leaving her standing there, humiliated.

As I walked away, I could hear the whispers and giggles from the surrounding students. Weird people, Was that even funny?

I entered the library, I needed to find my book quickly before anyone else did. As I approached the spot where I was sitting this morning, I noticed someone sitting there, hunched over wearing a black jacket and its cap pulled low over their face.

Who does this person think they are? I thought, irritation bubbling up inside me. They were engrossed in my book, a book that was forbidden here. WTH are they doing?

Without thinking, I stormed over and slammed my hand down closing the book, and causing the person to jump. I gritted my teeth, while my voice laced with anger as I asked "Are you enjoying stealing someone else's book?"

The person looked up, and I realized with a start that it was actually a girl, not a boy as I had assumed. She had large, startled eyes behind oversized glasses, and her face was partially hidden by her bangs.

She looked lost and frightened. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.

My anger subsided slightly, but I still felt annoyed. "What are you doing with my book?" I demanded, my tone softer but still firm.

She hesitated, looking down at the book as if she didn't know how to explain. "I just... found it," she said quietly, her fingers trembling slightly inside her long sleeves as she handed it back to me.

As I took the book from her, she looked up at me with a mixture of fear and curiosity. Just as I was about to turn away, she called out, "Wait!"

I paused, expecting another awkward confession like the one earlier. "What is it?" I asked, trying to keep my impatience in check.

"C-can I borrow it?" she asked, surprising me. Her voice was timid, but there was a hint of determination in her eyes that I could barely see.

I was taken aback. Most people would have been intimidated by my cold behavior, but she seemed genuinely interested in the book more than me.

I stepped closer, I don't remember seeing her anywhere around, wanting to look at the small details of her face that were hard to see because of her glasses and bangs, I extended my hand toward her face wanting to see more of her face, specially her eyes.

They held something ... unusual.

Only when she stepped back looking away, I realized what I've been doing. Shit! What I was even trying to do now! I've never done such a thing before and it's going to be the last time.

Feeling awkward, I tried to change the weird atmosphere between us. She won't be able to read the book anyway, I thought, so I handed it to her. "Fine, take it," I said dismissively. It's a forbidden book here so it's empty anyway.

She looked at the book with a slight smile that was barely seen. "Thank you," she whispered.

I walked away from the library, feeling curious more than ever, why would she read an empty book, did she want it just because of the cover but it has nothing special about it Or did she .... A late realization hit me. What if she was able to read it?.

"Damn!" I had to get the book back. Panic surged through me, and I turned back, running to the library as fast as I could.

The possibility of her being able to read the book was impossible but I shouldn't have left that book for her, what if it fell in the wrong hands?

I burst through the library doors, scanning the room frantically. The spot where she had been sitting was now empty. Desperation clawed at my chest as I moved quickly through the rows of bookshelves, searching for any sign of her.

But she was gone. The library was quiet, the only sound being the faint rustle of pages and the soft footsteps of other students. I cursed under my breath, running a hand through my hair in frustration.

Where could she have gone? I wondered, my mind racing. I had no idea who she was, no way to find her.

I stoodthere helplessly. She had vanished, and with her, the book that held moresignificance than she could ever know.
