"DAY 2. 8:33 a.m."
I didn't sleep much that night. That's why, after a couple hours of just tossing and turning I got up and went downstairs to prepare some coffee and grab something to eat.
The guys did a good job when buying groceries as the fridge was packed with food and many drink choices. Just as I grabbed the milk and closed the door, I saw through the kitchen's window someone outside, laying on a hammock.
I poured the coffee in two cups and made my way outside.
The sun was hitting on the calm waters of the lake and it was getting warmer by the minute.
"Hey" I announced my presence "What are you doing up so soon?" I asked once I reached him, offering the cup of coffee before sitting on a chair beside him. "Thanks" he paused "I could ask you the same question" taking his sunglasses of, I could now see the ghost of bags under his eyes, "I couldn't really sleep, that bed is not made for three" It was partially true.
"Where are you going?" I asked the blonde when I ran into her sneaking out of her shared bedroom with Tyler on my way to Willow and mine's, "I'm sleeping on the sofa" was everything that she said, "You wanna sleep with Willow and I?"
And that's how we ended up in a bed that was too small to properly fit three people in it.
"How was she?" asked the brunette after taking a sip of his coffee, "She didn't look good, but she didn't look bad either, I don't know. She tends to keep to herself" I said, squinting my eyes over the lake's surface.
"Did you have any nightmare?" his tone dropping "Yeah", I solemnly said, my gaze dropping to the hot cup in my hands, "Tyler wanted to go camping today, spend the whole day out and come back tomorrow" I looked at him, wanting to say something but saying nothing.
A comfortable silence fell over us, each one of us drowned in our own thoughts.
"It was pretty dark and we were in a strange position" I looked back at him "we know we saw something but maybe our imagination played a big part in it, making out something that didn't look as we thought it did" I explained.
"It ran away as if it was scared" I nodded to that fact, my muscles relaxing a bit.
It kind of felt like we were trying to convince ourselves.
"I felt good" I suddenly said making him look at me, I could already feel the heat rising up my chest "with you on the tree... Well, I mean, on the tree and wherever..." he raised his eyebrows, an amused expression making its way through his features, "I always feel good by your side, that's what I meant to say" I laughed, looking at the dark beverage of the cup in my hands, feeling the blush creeping up my neck.
"Good, 'cause I feel the same about you".
It was a especial moment.
"Good morning, lovebirds!"
It was.
"Morning Tyler" I said before taking a sip of my coffee, "You guys ready for today's little camping trip?" He excitedly asked.
Before we could answer, Willow, Violet and Emma made their way out of the cabin with a few bags in hand, "We'll need a couple extra bags to fit the tents and so" said the blonde.
I tuned them out for a few minutes while I drank my coffee and overlooked the lake and once I was ready, I standed up and reached for Nathan's cup, earning a thanks on his side.
"Let's go upstairs and see what we'll need" I said once I reached the girls.
Once I dropped the cups in the kitchen's sink I followed everyone, and the four of us ended up in Willow and I's bedroom.
I was grabbing my bag when Emma closed the door and a deafening silence fell over us four; Alexis nowhere to be seen, probably still deep asleep.
"Last night, after finding you and Jude" she started, pointing towards Violet, "I went back inside and then to the graveyard, 'cause I didnt want to go farther outside on my own, and I heard... strange noises coming from that old shed" I looked at Willow, who was already looking at me, "I blocked, I wasn't able to look inside so I shouted for them to come out and said that I knew it was them".
"So you didn't see anything" said Violet as a matter of fact, "What did you hear?" I asked in return, watching our friend carefully think of her next words "I don't know, it was... weird" she finished. "Do you think they were doing-", "Have you talked to Tyler about this?" I asked, sending an apologetic look at Willow when I cut her midsentence.
"He said nothing happened, that it was full of bugs in there and that Violet couldn't stop moving" I contemplated my next words for a moment, "then maybe that's all that happened" I ended up saying.
"Abbie is right, you didn't see anything, maybe that's all there is to it".
Before Emma could keep talking, the door to the room opened and Alexis stpped inside, looking fresh as a rose, which means that she's been awake for a while now.
"We're all set, you girls ready?" She asked with a wiggle of her eyebrows.
We all looked around the room, grabbing a few more things and tossing it inside the bags without a single care.
"Abbie, your phone" said Alex before I could step out into the corridor, "Oh, good one, thanks" I said, turning back so i could grab it from the nighstand.
Once we all walked out, we saw the guys carrying their bags.
"Okay, let's go!" Shouted Tyler, as excited as always.
I won't ever be able to comprehend where he gets all that energy from.
The walk to the clairing we would be camping at was almost an hour ahead, so some of us braced ourselves for what was going to come, while others just strut like it was nothing.
"Friends, beer and drinking games around a bonfire, what could possibly go wrong, guys?" Shouted Alexis from ahead the group.
"Bugs" was all I said, earning a few laughs.
