before we begin, here are some warnings and context about this fanfic:
first of all, english is not my first language, so please be understanding if there is anything incoherent in the text or that doesn't make any sense. also, feel free to correct me so i can improve.
recently, i've been dealing with some legal issues because my neighbor filed a lawsuit against my sister and me, accusing us of arson after his apartment was found on fire. so, amidst all this, to cool my mind off things, i had the brilliant idea to return to my hobby of writing fanfics, and that's how this work came about.
this story is an adaptation of some book (whose title i have no idea) made by an old colleague of mine, and i've always liked this story and wanted to bring it to some ship that i liked. Initially, i thought of rhaenyra x alicent, or even xena x gabrielle (since i'm watching this show right now), but these ships have a smaller audience compared to bechloe, which apparently has a pretty loyal and consistent group of readers. so, i decided to make this ship that i love so much the protagonists of this story.
as you may have seen in the tags, this setting takes place in the victorian era, and i should warn you that it will involve british, american, and a bit of irish history and culture. i'm moderately familiar with the context but have no (i repeat, no) experience with the history of the united kingdom and the united states. so again, feel free to correct me if i write something very absurd. but only in absurd cases, kay mate!? after all, chill out, it's just fiction.
lastly, in my country, we describe literary characters' dialogue using the dash "—" instead of quotation marks. i'm used to it and personally find it more aesthetic. although, i know that many people don't like it as they see it as stage play narration or something. if this detail really bothers you, let me know, and i will consider using quotation marks.
