Lucy woke up and got dressed, she threw a lock at her alarm clock, five minutes after seven, shit she was running late. She quickly grabbed a bite in the kitchen and hurried out the front door. But she turned around pretty quickly when she realised she forgot something, her medicine. She quickly opened the cabinet and grabbed it.

Lucy needed to take her medicine three times a day, in the morning, after lunch and at night. It was pills to help her blood levels stay steady, they were for extra caution, since she'd been sick, very sick a few years back.

She was 20 when she got her diagnosis, leukemia. That's when her world turned around in an instant. Before her diagnosis she had noticed unusual bruising she was bleeding pretty easily and felt weak almost all the time. It was first when she got a severe infection that she went to the doctor and checked it out. They then told her that she had stage four leukemia, and needed to start chemo immediately. She went through many rounds of chemo and blood transfusions. She lost her hair and her will to live, but she fought every day, trying to get better, and eventually she did. She had a few set backs, she thought she was doing better but then her white blood cell count rised. It had been a struggle, but eventually the cancer was gone. She still had to take pills to keep her levels steady and prevent it from coming back, but for now she was doing really well. She still lived with the traumatic memories in her head, and the survivors guilt were really intense. Sometimes she got flashbacks from that time, when she was admitted for months and all she could feel was pain, both physically and mentally. But she was doing much better now. When she got cleared from her doctor she joined the police academy, her hair grew out pretty quickly and she looked really healthy. She then got a job at mid-Wilshire station in LA, and there she got a really strict TO, whose name was Tim. And he did not like when she was late, that's why she hurried to her car and quickly drove to the station, she made it in right in time for roll call, shoving up with the same happy smile as always.

Roll call went by really smoothly, Grey handed out the assignments for the day and then dismissed them. Chen loaded the shop and then joined Tim in the front seat.

Tim: That took you some time.

Lucy: sorry

Tim: Just be quicker next time.

Lucy: Okay.

The morning was really slow, they responded to a few noise complaints and a possible robbery, which then turned out to be a misunderstanding. When it was time for lunch the gang all met up at the burger place and started chatting about their shift. When suddenly Lucy's  and Tim's radios started making noise, "7-Adam-19, we have a possible s*icide at (some address)

Tim: 7-Adam-19 responding. Come on boot!

Lucy and Tim started running to the shop, and Tim drove to the scene. When they got to scene they noticed a woman sitting on the ground with a gun to her head. Lucy could feel her panic rise inside of her as pulse got faster, but she pulled it together and focused on the assignment, save the woman. Tim started to walk up the her first and gestured to Lucy that she should stay back. He started talking to the woman.

Tim: Hey don't do that, what's your name?

Woman: I'm Alice

Tim: Hi, nice to meet you Alice, could you please put the gun down so we can talk?

Alice: No, back away, NOW.

Tim: Okay, I'm backing, but could you please tell me what's wrong?

Alice: Fine, I just got diagnosed with cancer and I'm terrified, I have no one by my side and I'm scared of dying. Everything is just hopeless and scary, I don't know how to handle it.
