Matthew's pov
We had school off Friday, so I slept in. After i woke up, showered, etc., I got dressed in blue jeans, a red sweatshirt and black converse and ran downstairs to see my mom and dad sitting on the couch. I walked into the kitchen and began to make pancakes. On the fifth pancake, a loud crash resounded from upstairs. "I SMELL PANCAKES! :D" My brother, Alfred, ran into the kitchen and stole a hotcake from the plate. My mom walked in. "Someone made pancakes?" She looked over at Alfred and I. "Who?" I cringed and walked out of the room. I ran into my room sat on my bed. I shouldn't be surprised about this anymore, it happens all the time... Except whenever Alfred has no one to hang with. And, Gil noticed me too. Oh, that reminds me...
When's the party?
I texted Gil.
The Awesome Gil:
8 I can pik u up if u want
I would've accepted his offer if it weren't for the fact that my mom and dad would assume I'm on a gay date and freak, because of course, I had to have homophobic parents.
Nah, my rents wouldn't like that... Um, how bout we meet @ the park on Wy Avenue?
My phone pinged.
The Awesome Gil:
K, but why won't your rentz like that? They'll think we're on a date or something and they're very homophobic...
The Awesome Gil:
Oh well. K, well meet at the park on Wy @ 7:45
After our text conversation, I waited until 7:30, told my parents I was going somewhere, then went to the park. When I got there it was empty, so I started swinging on the swing until I heard a laugh behind me. "Kesesesese! I didn't think you'd be a park kinda guy!" I stopped the swing and turned around, purple meeting red as I saw Gilbert sitting on a bench. "Ya know, we could skip the party and hang here." The albino suggested. "I dunno, don't you want to hang out with your other friends?" I asked. "Well, yeah, but this'll be more fun! So let's just hang here." The Prussian proclaimed. "Fine. But you should text your friends, they could get worried." The prussian nodded and pulled out his phone. While he texted his friends, I got back on the swing and started swinging. When my swinging got close enough, I kicked him. He turned around, a look of confusion across his face.
I laughed and kicked him again. He finished his text, hit send, and put his phone in his pocket. He got on the other swing and started swinging, twisting so he could hit me. I giggled and started hitting him. "Stop it!" He laughed his laugh and jumped off the swing, running to the slide. I started chasing him around the park, laughing the entire time.
Gilbert's POV
We had a great time, laughing and smiling, and just enjoying ourselves. After about two hours of playing, Matthew grabbed my hand and started dragging me into the forest nearby. His hand was really warm, like freshly-made pancakes. "Where are we going?" I asked as we started going up. Soon, the trees seperated and we arrived at the top of a hill, with a lone maple tree in the middle. "Where are we?" I asked. Matthew smiled and laid down on the grass, looking up at the sky. "When I was younger, I used to come here all the time. No one else knows it's here, but it's a perfect place to see the stars." I looked at the maple tree. In a heart it read, 'C+P'. "Who are 'C' and 'P'?" I asked. "I've always tried to figure it out, but I can't. It's been there since before I found the tree." We chatted a bit more until Matthew laid back down, his hair getting in his face. I laid down beside him and looked up at the stars.
There were all sorts of constellations, which Matthew pointed out. "So far, but they seem so close." I said, reaching my hand up as if to grab one. "Yeah..." Matthew whispered doing the same. He put his hand down, and we both sat up, leaning against the tree. After a few minutes of silence, I felt pressure on my shoulder. "Matt?" I asked quietly. He had fallen asleep against my arm. I stayed silent, letting him rest. His hand grabbed mine and his quiet breathing lulled me to sleep.
