The dark alley,
Where forever laid a girl named Sally.
She was but 10 years old,
And her home life was not that gold.
She needed to get away,
And that's what she did one fine cold day.
Out of her window she snuck,
And into the cold nights muck.
She walked out of her yard,
And slowly past a graveyard.
Oh how she wished she would not end up there,
Forever having spider eggs in her hair.
She looked ahead,
And her heart thus bled.
Someone was watching her through the shadows.
Someone dark and menacing within the meadows.
A shiny object he lifted up and pointed towards her.
And who this was she was not sure.
She silently screamed and ran,
Down the street barely missing an oncoming van.
Into the city bypassing people,
Those in the world heading to midnight service at the steeple.
They didn't even notice her as she blindly ran on,
Then she tripped and fell on someone's lawn.
"Come to me little girl," a voice sounded from behind.
Wicked things began racing through her mind.
She quickly got up,
And realized that she was stuck.
She felt a hand on her shoulder,
And within minutes her life was over.
Her body is buried you see,
Underneath a cardboard sea.
Within a dark and menacing place,
Someone lay without a face.
Demolished for running away,
Forever in the grave of the alleyway.
