The weeks following the second incident in Umbridge's class were as chaotic as the first ones. Mia and Archie's detention had finally ended, likely because there was no more room to etch words into Mia's arm and because Umbridge believed Archer had learned his lesson after repeatedly inscribing 'I must not accuse without proof' onto his forearm.

Oddly, Umbridge seemed to take it easy on him.

Archer noticed this as well, and shortly after his detentions ended, he received a letter from Regulus. Davina, apparently, had been in the castle and learned about the situation when she discovered a student crying after a detention with the Pink Nightmare. She had told Regulus, and he said they would keep quiet to avoid drawing attention to the Order. However, his letter was also unambiguous and left no room for argument.

"Avoid trouble with her, but if you need anything, write to me. I don't want you anywhere near her classroom, even for detentions. I've handled a few things, so she should leave you alone. I'm sorry I can't help the others yet; it would draw too much attention, especially with Mia.

Keep me updated, and don't let her force you into anything. You have my permission to not attend any of the torture sessions she calls detention. If you do, you'll be in trouble with me. Take care, all of you. Davina and I are working on Jamie's situation, and we hope Mia is doing well with the news about my brother."

One could say that Archie should be able to deal with all that alone, but anyone who knew his dad just a bit well would know that he was fully aware Archer could handle his problems.

But being tortured by a psycho teacher wasn't exactly the sort of thing a kid should be dealing with.

It was the way their relationship worked. Regulus didn't meddle in his son's life unless it was a situation Archer shouldn't be dealing with. Usually, it involved an adult and something threatening or dangerous, and when he did get involved, that person was never naive enough to step foot near Archie again.

Whatever Regulus had written to Umbridge had worked because she hadn't battled an eye at Archer again since releasing him from detention.

Other than that, nothing much had happened. Jamie was still suffering from headaches and nightmares he didn't understand, and now he also had found himself trapped in a unilateral competition, as Hermione wasn't taking lightly the fact that Jamie was the best Transfiguration student in their year. McGonagall was seemingly impressed by his far-advanced knowledge of her discipline and never refrained from complimenting the boy's skills in class, something Granger had found rather annoying. Jamie, on the other hand, couldn't care less about her and made his only goal to learn the most he could about the subject.

Mia was still having blurry dreams about what she assumed was either a long corridor or Grimmauld Place, but nothing worrisome. People were now fully addressing her as Black, and she judged it better to ignore.

Black and Graham sucked. Still, Sirius was at least a bit more morally proper than Iris, so Black wasn't all bad.

A few nights before the first trip to Hogsmeade, Jamie was heading out of the library with his friends when Harry asked to speak to him alone. He dismissed his friends and walked to the Gryffindor tower with his brother, listening as he shared the most insane thing Jamie had ever heard.

"You'll be teaching people?" he asked incredulously. "Since when are you smart enough to teach anyone?"

Harry stared at him boredly.
