EVERYBODY SAT IN ALLISON'S room helping her pack, since they only had one week until she moved away. aurelia fought tears as she picked up a photograph of them two and stored it away in a box labeled memories.

"i can't believe this is our last time being in this room." matt says, a saddened look on his face. allison looks back at him before standing up and giving him a tight hug.

"i'm really going to fucking miss you." she expresses, gripping his sweatshirt as they hugged.

"oh, get a room." nick gags turning his head away as matt just laughs.

they continue to clear her room, taking down her decorations and photographs hung on her wall. if you looked close enough, you could still see them all sitting on her bed at a sleepover during junior year, laughing their asses off at 2 in the morning. her room seemed so empty. not physically, instead emotionally. aurelia refused to believe this was the room they once shared their most favorited memories.

aurelia sits on the floor as she organized her assigned box, of course it was the memory box. she sits on the floor, all the items surrounding her as she carefully placed them in the box. she picks up a lock-box before gasping, everybody turning to look at her. "holy shit, our time capsules!"

"no way, we made those in 5th grade!" chris gasps, sitting down next to her. everybody in their group, aside from charlotte since they had met her in junior year, all put something they wanted to remember in their senior year of high school. everybody crowded around aurelia as she carefully opens the box, dumping the remains out. there was 7 plastic bags for everyone who put items in it. and they were all marked with names, so aurelia passed them out before they all opened it.

everybody pulled out a note that they all wrote to their future selves from their fifth grade selves. they all smiled widely as they read the idiotic stuff their 5th grade selves had written, and aurelia couldn't help but tear up.

dear my future self!

hi, this is 5th grade you. how are you doing?
i can't believe when youre reading this we're going to be graduating! that's in forever, though.
i'm nervous for sixth grade but at least were going to have ali with us.
speaking about ali, are we going to the same college? sharing a dorm? i'm so excited to grow up with her and have our kids be best friends. just like we talked about.
anyway, i don't really know what to write.
p.s, do we still like chris? does he like us?
bye!!!!
-your 5th grade self

as everybody concluded reading their notes, they continued to search through their time capsules. old polaroids fell out, along with many friendship bracelets. "holy shit, this was so long ago." nick laughs, holding up a photo of them all at an amusement park. everybody laughs along, remembering that day.

"wait i'm cold let me grab my hoodie." chris says, standing up and waking to the opposite side of the room. suddenly, his phone vibrates.

"chris somebody texted you." aurelia calls out, picking up his phone.

"tell me what it says, my passcode is 021706." he says back, throwing his hoodie over his head.

"my birthday?" aurelia laughs, unlocking his phone.

"gross, you guys are so corny." charlotte gags, making a disgusted face.

"what does it say?" chris asks, looking at his girlfriend who just took a deep breath.

"it's from chase. he said 'i keep forgetting but i'll give you $100 on monday, didn't think you could actually pull her.'" she says, exhaling in deeply. chris's heart drops to his stomach as everybody in the room goes silent, looking at him. "so i was just a bet?"

"wait, aurelia-" chris begins to say, but aurelia had already stood up. she walks out of the room without saying anything as everybody turns to face chris, a disgusted look on all of their faces.

"chris. what the fuck?" alison gasps, standing up as she goes after her best friend. chris stays silent, just blinking as he looks at everybody else.

"chris tell me right now she isn't serious." matt says, shutting his eyes. when chris doesn't respond he just sighs. "oh brother. she was a bet? seriously?"

"well go after her! what the fuck are you doing?!" nick says, rushingly shoving chris out of the room. chris picks up on the hint and rushes outside, seeing aurelia panicking while ali suppportingly hugs her.

"aurelia wait let me explain!" he says, running up to the duo.

"no chris, go away!" she yells, tears rolling down her face. "i can't believe i actually thought you liked me."

"aurelia i do like you!"

"then why the fuck was i a bet, chris? i should've known something was up ever since the day you talked to chase!" chris opens his mouth to speak but doesn't get the chance because she quickly spun around, walking in the direction of her house.

"chris, you really fucked up." allison confronts coldly, narrowing her eyes at chris harshly.

"allison, help me. i can't lose her." chris pleads, looking back down at the blonde girl in front of him.

"chris, i don't want to help you. i wanted to leave boston knowing my best friend was happy, but you had to go screw everything up. i'm sorry but you're on your own for this one." she clenches her jaw before turning on heel and walking through the front door, leaving chris all alone taking in her words.
