The following week passed by in a blur of classes, homework, and the usual hustle and bustle of Hogwarts life. Petunia found herself daydreaming about the adventure in the Forbidden Forest and the sense of belonging she had felt with Lily, James, Jamie, and even Gilderoy Lockhart. The thrill of the experience lingered in her mind, and she found herself longing for more moments like that.

One afternoon, as Petunia was studying in the library, she heard a familiar voice behind her. "Mind if I join you?"

She turned around to see Jamie standing there, a warm smile on his face. Petunia's heart skipped a beat. "Of course, Jamie. Have a seat."

Jamie pulled out a chair and sat down next to her, setting his books on the table. "I was wondering if you'd like to take a break from all this studying and go for a walk with me."

Petunia's eyes lit up. "A walk sounds wonderful. I could use some fresh air."

They packed up their things and left the library, stepping out into the crisp autumn air. The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the Hogwarts grounds. They walked in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying the beauty of the evening.

As they strolled along the path that led to the Black Lake, Jamie broke the silence. "I've been meaning to thank you, Petunia. For joining us on our little adventure last weekend. It meant a lot to Lily and James, and to me as well."

Petunia smiled, her cheeks flushing slightly. "I should be the one thanking you. I had such a wonderful time. It was exactly what I needed."

Jamie looked at her, his eyes full of sincerity. "I'm glad to hear that. You know, Petunia, you're not just Lily's sister to us. You're our friend too. We care about you."

Petunia's heart swelled with warmth at his words. "Thank you, Jamie. That means a lot to me."

They continued walking until they reached a secluded spot by the lake, where they sat down on a large rock overlooking the water. The sky was painted with hues of pink and orange, and the reflection of the setting sun danced on the surface of the lake.

Jamie turned to Petunia, a playful glint in his eyes. "Do you remember when we first met?"

Petunia laughed, recalling the memory. "How could I forget? You accidentally spilled a potion all over me in our first year. I was so mad at you."

Jamie chuckled. "And I was absolutely mortified. I thought you'd never speak to me again."

"Well, you did apologize profusely," Petunia said, smiling at the memory. "And you spent the rest of the week trying to make it up to me. I think that's when we became friends."

Jamie nodded, his expression turning serious. "Petunia, there's something I've been wanting to tell you for a while now. I just... I didn't know how to say it."

Petunia's heart began to race. "What is it, Jamie?"

He took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "I've always admired you, Petunia. You're kind, intelligent, and incredibly brave. I've seen how much you've grown since we started at Hogwarts, and... well, I think I'm falling for you."

Petunia's eyes widened in surprise, her heart pounding in her chest. "Jamie, I..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Jamie leaned in and gently pressed his lips to hers. The world seemed to stand still for a moment as they shared their first kiss, the warmth and tenderness of the moment filling Petunia with a sense of joy she had never felt before.

When they finally pulled away, Jamie looked into her eyes, his own filled with hope and affection. "I hope I didn't overstep, Petunia. I just couldn't keep my feelings to myself any longer."
