(Liu'er mihou pov)
I sat in the lunch room, picking at my food and staring and the table. I didn't feel very hungry today, maybe it was because I was insanely jealous. My name is Lui'er Mihou, or just Lui'er. I'm in 5th grade. I of course was the odd one out of my grade. I was just a normal kid as everyone else well, except I had naturally white hair. All the kids in the lunch room laughed and smiled at each other. I couldn't help but stare across from the lunch room. Stare at the most popular kids in the school, and one of my best friends. His name was Wukong. Sun Wukong. He was sweet and funny. He was was hanging out with Azure, Peng and their friend tusk. They called themselves the brotherhood. I guess I couldn't really care less, but there was one thing I was upset about, and that was Wukong.
Why was he with the brotherhood. I'm his best friend, not them. I mean, he can't have other best friends can he? I'm the only friend he has. The brotherhood are fake! They don't care about him like I do. They only care that he's popular and pretty. Of course, Azure normally scoped for some of the most popular boys and pretty girls. Luckily today was Friday. Wukong was always free on a Friday, I bet I can ask him to get ice scream or something! That'd be fun! He always loved fun.
After school I sat on the front steps of my school, waiting patiently with a smile on my face for Wukong to come back. He always sat with me after school, Talkin and going on about his day. I loved that he could talk for hours and I could always listen. Suddenly a hand touched my shoulder as someone jumped down to sit with me. I look at them and smiled.
"Lui'er! Oh my goodness I NEED to tell you what happened in my math class!" He smiled before starting to go on about his day. It made me smile, of course that would soon fade as I heard footsteps approach. Their stood Azure. He had ten buck in his hand, he has that stupid prince smile on his face. I made a sour face. "Then we-" he was cut off by Azure starting to speak. "Hey wukong. I was wondering if you wanted to see a movie! Just you and me?" He asked sheepishly. I glared at him as wukong uncomfortably shifted closer to me. He took a second to reply before getting up, "Sure-! I'll go-!" He laughed nervously. "I'm sorry Lui'er, I'll see you on Monday okay?" He hugged me tightly giving me a uncomfortable before letting go and walking off.
I looked at him, watching him go quickly getting upset. He didn't want to hang out with azure, I know he didn't but he was supposed to hang out with me. I'm his real friend. His only friend. He wouldn't just abandon me that way. Not like this! Azure is trying to take him away from me and I fucking know it. I don't know why he would say yes but, at this point he doesn't even want to hang out with me. What's the point in it. I brushed it off. I'll ask him Monday. Of course, that Monday was like any other. Wukong ran up and hugged me. I smiled and hugged him tightly. "Hey bud! How are you?' he said, his voice was upbeat and excited. I loved his voice. He was about to say something till azure put his arm around Wukong's shoulder. He pulled him away from me and Wukong started talking to azure. I only got more and more upset. I don't think it was reasonable of me but, I couldn't help it.
It was lunch time. While I walked to lunch, Wukong walked over trying to talked to me but I was upset. "Hey Lui'er do you-" I didn't let him finish his sentence before I shoved him away from me turning to his direction. "Look. If you don't want to be my friend can you for the love of fucking budda TELL ME!" I yelled. He turned to look at me confused. "Lui'er what? What are you talking about? I'm your friend!" He shoved azures arm off his shoulder and walked over grabbing my hands. I only harshly yanked them away. I only glared at.him. he stood there, a confused look on his face. "liu'er your my best friend! I don't know what your talking about! I'm sorry I've been-" he spoke before I interrupted him. "Your always fuckin busy, you always choose azure over ME. Your only friend! I was always there for you and you threw me out like garbage! Like I was nothing!" I argued he only stares.
"Lui'er I've always cared! Don't you understand?!" He said trying to calm me. Normally it would have worked but it didn't today. I only cried out. "YOU NEVER ONCE ASKED ME TO HANG OUT. TO BE WITH YOU, TO EVEN STAY WITH YOU IN THE BEGINNING. I WAS ALWAYS THERE I-" I was cut off by a punch to the eye. I was never exactly sure what happened but I thought it could have been Wukong's nails since we're exceptionally sharp, later on the camera's they found it was a pair of scissors. They ended up cutting my skin, causing the surroundings of my eye to start bleeding. I tumbled back holding my eye, trying to catch my breath and process what just happened. Everything after was a blur. Their were bunches and bruises. We were fighting back and forth for maybe a good 45 minutes until they finally pulled us off each other. The floor was stained with the blood basically flowing out of my eye. I stood there quietly as one of the teachers held me, the other struggling to hold Wukong as he shouted and tried to pull away. At this point, ears were ringing and my mind had gone blank. They then took us to the principals office, as he spoke to us about our behavior saying it was unacceptable and unprofessional of us to the 'rough housing' in a school environment. I wasn't exactly paying the most attention.
Suddenly Wukong's parents, Pigsy and Tang burst in. "WUKONG!" Pigsy exclaimed, slamming the door into the wall. He quickly ran to hug Wukong as tang stood next to them with his younger brother, Mk in hand, rubbing his back with this free hand. trying to calm him down from his anxious state. I only sat there staring blankly at the wall until my parents came into the room. They glared at wukong's parents. The principal started to talk explaining the issues and the fight. "Well perhaps if this.. ginger... Hadn't been in our sons way nothing would have happened." My mother said, trying her best to be professional. Pigsy looked at my mother with the most ballistic look. "Listen here lady i-" pigsy said pushing his finger to my mothers chest.
It took the principal a bit of explaining to get the parents calmed down. The principal then turned to me, with a stern look on his face before lifting a paper on his desk. "Lui'er why did you hit Wukong." I stayed silent before I accidentally spat out, "He was trying to kill me! I didn't do anything -!" I was frantic, I'm sorry wukong. "Sir-! I did nothing! I threw the first punch but I wasn't trying to kill him!" Wukong stated. The principal was about to open his mouth to speak before my father interrupted him, "we want to press charges on this family that hurt our son." He said sternly. The entire room wouldn't quiet before pigsy finally spoke up. "Are you serious? Your kid hit ours first you shouldn't be taking us to court we-" pigsy said angrily, trying not to explode. Tang only put a hand on his shoulder. "We'll see you there, don't worry." They then took wukong home.
I watched him walk away, upset and trying not to cry. I stated before my mother got to my level, putting a hand on my cheek and kissing my forehead. "How's your eye feeling?" She asked me softly. I was in shock, I didn't reply at all to her question. I didn't know what was going to happen, and that scared me. I knew who called when it forgive me easily. That's okay. I hope everything will be okay. After months of fighting back and forth, they court had finally decided that I was guilty of my crimes and sent to a year in juvenile prison. Of course it was terrifying, most of these kids were over my age. It was always cold and often boring since their wasn't much we can do. After the year was finally over I got released, I was worried about going back into civilization because I hadn't been in so long, but of course all of the cons of being in a prison finally stepped forwards. It wasn't allowed in certain schools, classes, jobs, I couldn't really do anything about it. And all the people whispering and saying I had been in juvi was overwhelming. I guess you could say one day I finally had enough and started writing a note to my parents and texting Wukong. That's when I came up with the great plan.
I'll fake my death.
I already knew how to execute it, I already knew what to do for it. About a week later I ran away from home, hoping to never return and let anybody see my face again. I sighed setting the note on my kitchen counter and ran off. My plan of action was of course to fake my death, I put in the note that I had went to the bridge to jump. Of course since the lake that ran under the bridge was very powerful in its water force it would be easy to get away with. I ran this far into the main city as I could. After a few weeks I was finally found by a nice lady, I didn't know her name but she turned out to be my mother. She adopted me since we didn't know what my name was or who I was. She changed my name to macaque, Macaque Mihou. Course I had a different last name, I had her last name but I think my original one fits better. She cut and dyed my hair once she took me home and soon I look like her biological child. She was my mother. But everything good comes to an end, I had to join high School specifically a high school called flower mountain high school. I was worried yes but this was a brand new start I was in the Liu'er anymore. My name is macaque, and know I have to figure out what to do for this year. But right now my first mission?
Survive high school.
