"EMI, don't cry you're gonna be okay. Let's go get a bandage on you, yeah?

Emi accidently fell and scraped her knee, the skin now rough and slightly bleeding.

She nodded with a pout and tears in her eyes. Both of you walked back inside to get a bandage.

"There. You're gonna be just fine." You pat the bandage on her knee gently and helped her off her chair.

Emi gave you the biggest hug she could and ran back outside, "be careful!" You yelled as you followed behind her.

It's been a few weeks ever since Emi's arrival at school. She's made lots of new friends and has had alot of fun, but there was one thing that you thought was odd.

Emi seemed to always cling onto you. She would always be looking for you, on the verge of tears if she couldn't find you. It was cute, but sometimes she could get in the way of helping you from other kids.

You didn't think much of it though. It's common for kids to look to up their teacher.

Eventually, school ended and now kids were getting picked up. Emi waited patiently for her dad as he soon appeared.

"Hi Emi." Kenji said as she ran towards him to give him a hug. "Thanks [L/n], cmon Emi." He smiled at you, making your heart melt.

"No problem, have a nice day!" You smiled back and waved.

Suddenly, Emi ran back to you and gave you a tight hug.

"Bye bye, mommy!"

She ran back as both you and Kenji stare in shock.

"Uhm.. s-sweetie I'm not you're—" You couldn't finish as you realized that the duo already left, leaving you flustered and dumbfounded.

"What was that Emi!?" Kenji yelled in embarrassment while driving, looking at his daughter in the rear view mirror.

"I like mommy." Emi simply answered while looking outside.

"She's your teacher, not your mommy." Kenji sighed. He knew he was blushing out of embarrassment, but maybe there's another reason as to why he's blushing and he just hasn't seem to notice.

Emi turned her head to look at her dad's reflection in the mirror. "Do you like mommy too?" She smiled.

Kenji sighed and kept his eyes on the road, one hand on the wheel and the other around the passenger seat. "She's nice. Let's get home so you can rest."

"Am I going to see mommy tommorow?" Emi asked. "Sorry Emi, no." Emi's smile turned into a frown, not knowing that today was Friday.

Seeing his daughter now obviously sad, he tried to brighten up the mood. "What did you learn today?"

Emi brightened up at the question. "We learn how to count! I can count to 15!" She smiled, holding up as many fingers as she could being 10. Her vocabulary was slowly improving too.

"That's great Emi, anything else?"

"I drew a picture!" She struggled to reach her backpack on the seat next to her from her car seat.

"You'll show me at home, yeah?"

"Okay!"
