IMPORTANT! Please read! To any possible readers who's made it this far, I'd like to preface this next part with this:
This is the first draft of this book. I'm taking full advantage of that. Love you for even reading this, but this is how I gotta write to be able to actually progress sometimes.
Sorry, not sorry.
----
What got skipped over:
- The shard had some crazy prophecy dream shit. "You must find the rest oooo, also here's help for escaping." Fuck the prophecy, I'm going home, but ty for escape help
- Events that makes the escape make sense and feel natural
- Bead escapes with, make it make sense
- They got chased cuz they're literally escaping. Find the worm hole, lose them, but what? This ain't the right wormhole. Shit there's multiple and now we're lost
- Stressed tf out so meditating. Spode tries telling Mel about a nearby planet. I said fuck that profecy shit, planets a no go
- Since Mel was hyperfixating on escaping he neglected his needs again... üps. There's no food or water either, they gotta make a pit stop on Prophecy Planet (TM) afterall so Bead can be not neglected and Mel won't literally dieAnd now we're caught up. The story continues:
The ship landed. Excited, Bead runs over to the door and peers out through the window to the new planet, eager to explore. Mel, however, needed a moment before he could bring himself to stand up.
Being so dehydrated was really starting to catch up to him. He felt like he was about to throw up his own heart, and the headache has grown so bad he can't see straight anymore.
He takes a deep breath in and finally lifts himself from his chair, only for his vision to go black, forcing him back down. With how long it took for his vision to clear, he was afraid he was going to passout then and there.
By the time his vision finally cleared, Bead had placed herself by his side. She grabbed his arm for his attention, but he couldn't feel it yet. As the ringing in his ears faded, he could finally hear her voice.
"-C'mon! Let's go! Let's go!"
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" He finally replies. He pushes himself out of his seat again, this time without an issue. The two hurriedly walk to the ship door, Bead mostly leading Mel, but both of them just as eager to leave.
Finally, Mel opens the door and reveils the planet to the two. The air is thick and dirty, reminding Mel of a city just like back on Earth. While the temperature is cool, it's nothing compared to how cold it was in Proxima Centuri. In fact, Bead found this world to be rather hot, but Mel was comfortable in just his raggedy labcoat.
The two were only in a docking station, but still the path ahead of them bustled with aliens. All too diverse and distinct from one another to group most of them together. There were giant creatures made of slime, and tiny creatures made of fuzz. Some had feathers, others only skin they had clothes drapped over. Some aliens had multiple arms or legs, and a few lacked either at all. There were horns, atenaes, even wings in just this crowd of people alone.
And this can't even the busy part of the city they're in...
For a moment, the two could only stare at the creatures infront of them in awe. Afterall, the first aliens they've ever seen in person before now we're each other. And now there's an entire slu of hundreds of different species!
They would have stayed to stare even longer if Mel didn't suddenly have to take a sharp breath in. Even breathing was beginning to be a struggle from how thirsty he's gotten.
Mel grabs Bead by her hand and brings her along as he finally steps off the ship and I to the crowd.
"First things first," he tells her. "I really, really need some water."
