The whispers began subtly, a faint tremor in the otherwise serene air of Lireo. It wasn't a sound humans could recognize, not quite. It was a vibration in the very essence of magic, a ripple that resonated only with those attuned to its frequency. Pirena, the fierce reina (queen) of fire, was the first to sense it.
Her ruby pendant, pulsing with its usual fiery glow, began to vibrate erratically. A frown creased her brow as she stepped outside the Sapiro, the glistening palace overlooking the crystal-clear Lake Cano. The whispering intensified, swirling around her like a mischievous breeze.
"Amihan," Pirena called out, her voice echoing across the manicured gardens.
The ever-serene reina of air materialized beside her, her cerulean gown rippling in the sudden wind. "What troubles you, kapatid (sister)?" she inquired, her voice as calming as a summer breeze.
Pirena pointed towards the glistening waterfall cascading down a nearby mountain. "It's coming from there," she said, her voice laced with unease.
Intrigued, Amihan raised a hand, directing her magic towards the source of the disturbance. The waterfall, usually a source of tranquil white noise, seemed to hum. The air shimmered, revealing an ethereal pathway that shimmered with a faint, otherworldly light.
"This... this wasn't here before," Amihan murmured, her eyes wide with wonder.
A collective gasp escaped their lips as a figure emerged from the shimmering portal. Tall and ethereal, cloaked in a gown of woven starlight, the woman emanated an aura of ancient power. Her sapphire eyes held the wisdom of ages, her silver hair cascading down her back like a frozen waterfall.
Pirena, ever the warrior, instinctively drew her flaming sword. Amihan, however, placed a hand on her sister's arm, her eyes fixed on the newcomer. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice laced with respect.
The woman smiled, a gentle warmth spreading across her face. "My name is Cassiopeia," she said, her voice like the tinkling of crystal bells. "I am the Sinaunang Hara of Encantadia."
The revelation struck them like a bolt of lightning. Legends spoke of a time before the four kingdoms, a time ruled by one, the Sinaunang Hara. But many considered it mere folklore, a bedtime story whispered to children. Yet, here she stood, a living legend stepping out of the fabric of time.
A thousand questions swirled in Pirena's mind. "But... how?" she stammered. "The legends say you disappeared millennia ago."
Cassiopeia's smile dimmed slightly. "There are many things the legends haven't captured, my child," she said, her voice laced with a hint of sorrow. "But worry not, the time has come for me to return."
Amihan, ever the diplomat, stepped forward. "Hara Cassiopeia, we welcome you to Lireo. If you would honor us with your presence, we would be delighted to learn more about Encantadia's past."
Cassiopeia nodded, her gaze sweeping across the majestic palace. "I accept your hospitality, Reyna Amihan," she replied. "There is much to tell, and much you need to know."
As the three queens walked towards the Sapiro, the whispers subsided, replaced by a sense of awe and anticipation. The arrival of the Sinaunang Hara was a monumental event, one that could rewrite the very fabric of Encantadia's history.
