Phone call

A/N. This is a but creepy. There's no fluff or anything.

Han's pov

There was something off this morning. I woke up a bit tired even if I slept a lot. I felt sick for all the drinks I took yesterday night. I went out with Jeongin and Felix to a club and we drunk a lot. Jeongin got me home safely.
My stomach and head hurt badly. It happened frequently when I drunk, but never this strong. Something was odd, and it wasn't just that. What subsequently got my attention was that Minho wasn't in bed beside me. I went in every room to check where he could have been because there were no noises so I didn't have any clues. I didn't find him. He didn't even left a note or a message as he usually does when he leaves to work early. He probably also didn't have breakfast because he would have also made coffee for me. What confirmed my theory was that there were no cups in the sink. This was really odd: Minho never went out early without telling me and he never skipped breakfast.
Assuming that he left for work and was in a rush and that he might have had breakfast on his way there, I let my odd feeling go and went on with my day.
As I do on every Friday, I worked from home for a few hours. I then showered and cleaned the house a bit.

-

It's now 8 p.m. and I got no sign of life from Minho. He didn't send a text and he didn't come home. He finishes to work at 6 and comes home half an hour later so, since he's not here yet, he didn't go to work. Or he did, and stopped to buy groceries. Or maybe he went to Seungmin's house. But in both cases, he would have told me by text. This is so odd, I have a feeling something's wrong.

-

15 minutes later, I decided to call him, hoping to finally find out where he was. I called him three times, my hopes to receive an answer already gone. Minho was the type of person to call you the second after he notices the call. And he notices it really fast.
At the last ring, he answers.

"Hello?"

"Minho, where are you?"

"Where are YOU? I'm at home, I've been here all day."

"No no no wait, I'm home, how can you be home?"

"I'm in front of the door, inside."

"I'm looking right there, there's no one."

"What do you mean there's no one. I've been home since this morning. Where have you been all this time?"

"I'm telling you, I'm home, Minho."

"You didn't came home yesterday night."

"I did, Jeongin got me home. I woke up in bed this morning."

"Han, you aren't home."

"I am."

"Send me your location."

"No."

"I won't ask you again. Send it."

"Fine."

As Minho hangs up, I take a moment to think. How can he be home when I've been here all this time and he isn't anywhere?
My odd feeling came back and then, right before I hit the send button to share my location, a thought passes my mind.
He said he was home all this time when he wasn't. But if he really is, why didn't he text me or call me? Why did he take so much time to answer?
I delete the text. There's something odd and I don't know what it is.
Suddenly, the door opens and Minho comes in as nothing happened, wearing his black coat and with bags in his hands.

"I'm back." He says as he drops the keys on the kitchen table beside me. I don't say anything, I just look at him.

"I went grocery shopping after work. My phone died so I couldn't text you."

"You said you were home."

"What? What are you talking about?"

"I just called you, you said you were home."

"I didn't receive any call, my phone is dead."

"But I talked to you just a few minutes ago. You asked me where I was, you said I didn't come home last night and that you stayed here waiting."

"I didn't receive any call, I couldn't. I couldn't answer anything, Han. Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. You didn't left any note this morning or had breakfast."

"I was in too much of a rush to even just think about it. I wanted to text you but my phone ahd low battery and died right after I entered your number. I couldn't have answered you. Were you talking to another person?"

"No it was you, I'm sure of it. It was your voice and your number."

"Wait- you said I asked you for your location in the call?"

"Yes, but apparently it wasn't you."

"No, it wasn't. But if he asked for your location, he wanted to know where you were. I have a feeling we both know who was talking to you."

"We can't be sure it's him. That would be tragic."

"It can't be anyone else. It's clearly him. He's the only one who would want to know your location. It's him, Han."

"But then-"

"Change quickly, we're going to the police."

"Can't I just wait for you here? It'll be quicker."

"I'm not letting you stay alone. He could have tracked your phone from what I know." He gives me a look as I nod and go to change quickly. After I finish changing, I approach him to the door and our eyes meet. I'm visibly scared and he's worried. Yet, he looks at me lovingly, as if to comfort me.
He opens the door and we go in our way.
Right when we're about to cross the road, I hear a familiar laughter and, when my eyes focus, I see a familiar figure on the other side of the road. I tighten my grip on Minho's hand and he does too: he saw it too.
We both make a step back and are ready to go back to the house when, as always, lucky is not on our side and the crosswalk light becomes green.
