Now that Clark is dead our new MC is Ulysses the leader of the UIU so we will get to see some more UIU action. Also since Ulysses is the new MC we will now see his point of view from first person. I hope you enjoy the epilogue since the sequel is on its way.

Falmart. Cemetery. 5 pm. January 17th. 2 AEE.

The conditions for the Engineer's burial were less than great. It had begun to rain, turning the snow that had fallen several days earlier into a disgusting muddy slush. This wasn't even like those tragic burials you see in movies where it was raining.

No, it was a drizzle. But it slowly did turn into rain turning snow into a disgusting slush like I stated earlier. My boots were covered with mud and snow. Some of the coffin bearers almost slipped which led to the coffin nearly crashing on the ground.

I could imagine the engineer being either disgusted at the sorry state of his funeral or just laughing his ass off. I should have said butt. I always scold myself for breaking my professional stance and cursing either in public or in my head.

Jesus I had been around Clark for so long I had developed my own cursing habit though it wasn't as bad as Clark's.

I watched as the coffin was finally placed in the grave as the priest began to say a quote for the Bible. Never been the religious type which was one thing me and Clark had in common. Clarks body, while found practically next to the engineer's body, was left in the woods to rot out and for the animals to feed off.

I'm surprised how much the leaders of my fellow GOIs hated him. Though this was mostly Trangs call since he was now the new leader of the GOC though that wouldn't last as yesterday I was instructed by Marcus Austerion the new leader of the insurgency to take out Trang as fast as my organization could.

(He was in charge of mainly logistics and was a close ally of the engineer according to lore. He ends up being placed in command of the insurgency.)

Sigh. I hope this doesn't create another power vacuum. Apparently Agent Burke Lars was chosen to be the new leader of the GOC once Trang was removed from power. Either way the UIU had come out stronger than ever and unscathed by the COUP. What was essentially a genocide against the pentagram carried out by my organization proved that my organization could strike whenever and were ever.

The Pentagrams leader Matt Scott was summarily executed yesterday by firing squads. I found It ironic he somehow outlived both Clark and the engineer even though he was captured first.

Clarks great escape plan had ended up failing as we know but he did achieve something at least I thought as I stared into the engineers coffin before first was soon being piled on it. I tossed a little smiley face pin into the grave before it was covered up.

I walked off then. I had been the last to arrive at the funeral and first to leave. When it came to the engineer I didn't like the man much. I'm sure he would have tried to regain the control over the GOIs he had before Clark really began to flex the GOCs power.

The rain was now turning into snow which meant at least it wouldn't get any slushier.

When I came through the gate first I didn't break down crying tears of joy or sadness. I felt rather empty.

After the emptiness passed I realized that this might either be a blessing or a curse. The land was beautiful and a clean start but with a world this beautiful I'm sure we would face conflict with others trying to claim it. The empire, the warrior bunnies, and now possibly the JSDF were all factions who were seeking to conquer this new land.

The JSDF hid their true intentions under the veil of a humanitarian operation. It's clear to me that trying to reform the empire is just their way of saying "we are establishing a puppet state" and then giving us pretty much the middle finger and making a big fuss about us helping the rebels who deserved their own state more than anyone.
