Leena

As I walk to the trash can to empty my tray, I lose sight of my footing and I slightly trip over.

"What the hell?"

I look up to see that the milk carton on my tray slipped off and onto the person's hoodie. Why am I so clumsy?

"Shit. I am so sorry." I take the unused napkin on my tray and use it to dry the person's hoodie. When I finish drying it, I finally look up. Oh my gosh.

"You made the stain worse," he says as he looks at his hoodie.

I watch as he clenches his jaw. Why is he so pissed? All I did was spill milk on him. It's not the end of the world.

He walks off as I watch in shock. And to think I found him attractive.

"Are you okay?" Lilith walks up to me as I walk back to the table.

"What is wrong with him? He just ignored me and left. I was gonna offer him money for his hoodie."

"He always acts like that. Just ignore it. Mitch, you should really get your friend in check." She stares at him as we all exit the cafeteria.

"I'm sure Angel is- you know what? I don't even have the energy to defend him right now." He throws his hands up in defeat.

"Well I'll see you guys later," Reyna says as she
walks off, and soon we all go our separate ways.

"Little boy where are your parents?" I stare at the kid in front of me. He decided it was a good idea to steal five bucks from me but luckily I caught his slick ass right in the act.

"Leave him alone. I'm sure he really needed the money. Aww he's so cute." Lilith reaches to pat his head but Reyna smacks it away.

"Leave it to you to find a thief cute. He tried to steal five dollars from her and you're calling him cute?" She sighs as she rubs her temples.

"I'll let you off the hook just because I don't feel like dealing with your parents. Run along now." The little boy runs away as I lean back up.

This is not how I expected things to go. We planned to go shopping at the mall after school and here we are. Today is just not my day I guess.

Lilith's phone starts to ring and she quickly answers after looking at the caller id.

After she finishes talking to whoever is on the other line, she puts her phone back into her pocket.

"Do you guys mind if Mitch and his friends hang out with us? He just called me and told me that he's here with them."

"Friends?" I look at her confused as we walk to the food court.

"Yeah. Angel and Matt. You met Angel already but I don't think you've met Matt." She looks around the food court in search of something.

I don't want to hang out with that asshole. He completely ruined my mood. If I'm being honest, his name doesn't really match his personality.

"There they are!" Lilith makes her way to them and Reyna and I follow behind.

"What is she doing here? I thought it was just those two that we were going to meet up with." I glare at Angel after he finishes speaking.

"Dude what are you talking about? You asked if she was going to be here and I said-" Angel cuts Mitch off by kicking him in the leg.

"What did I do?" Mitch asks, rubbing his leg.

The other guy clears his throat before speaking. "Please excuse their behavior, I'm Matt." He stares at me as I turn my attention away from the other guys.

"I'm Leena," I tell him. He smiles and nods, returning his attention onto his friends.

We all head to find a vacant table that we can sit at. We eventually find one at the edge of the food court.

"I'm gonna go get some Chinese food, do any of you guys wanna come with?" Reyna looks to see if any of us are interested and I get up.

The rest decide to order something else and we leave the table and head to get our food.

After we get our food we return to the table. It seems like we're the last ones to get our food since they're already eating theirs.

I grab a seat next to Lilith. Angel just so happens to be in front of me. Mitch and Matt are on either side of him.

As I eat, I look up to glance around but I find Angel glaring at me. What the hell? You know it's a shame that his good looks are put to waste.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" His gaze leaves mine and I let out an internal sigh. I don't know why he has such a big problem with  me. There's no way he's still mad about earlier. Holding a grudge over some spilled milk is ridiculous.

"So where to after this?" Matt looks to the rest of the group for any answers. Reyna looks as if she's about to speak but decides against it and shoves a spoonful of fried rice into her mouth.

"I think I'm gonna head home after we finish eating. Sorry guys."

"No it's okay Leena, I think I'm gonna head out too after this." Lilith puts her extra food into a to-go box as we all finish eating.

After I say my goodbyes and I go my own way, I make my way to my car. Before I can leave, I hear a knock on my window. I turn to my left to see Angel making a gesture to roll down the window. I sigh as I roll it down.

"What do you want?" I watch as he hands me my to-go box. How did I forget that? Before I can utter another word, he walks away.

I'm guessing that I should probably get used to that behavior.
