~Elijah's past memory~
Elijah looked at the cabin in front of him, it was where he and his girlfriend were supposed to meet. He leaned against the cabin and looked over at the small pond watching as the ducks swam, a few moments passed by when suddenly a pair of small hands covered his eyes.
"Guess who." The voice spoke in a soft sweet tone.
Elijah jumped a bit but quickly calmed down when he heard her voice. "Josie!" He said and grabbed her hands and turned around to face her and cupped her cheeks. "You scared me..What is this that I suddenly have to see and no one else can know?" He questioned, still looking down at her.
Josie looked away from his gaze and took his hand and led him inside the cabin she sighed deeply before speaking. "You have to promise you will still love me Eli...Promise me." She begs, her gaze finally meeting his eyes.
"Okay..I promise, just tell me Jo." He said in a pleading tone. What could be so bad for them to break up? Josie was everything he had ever wanted in a girl. She was beautiful, sweet and loyal and overall an amazing person.
"Josie, please." He said once again.
Josie nods and leads them over to a small couch and they both sit down. "This isn't going to be easy but." She begins to say and takes a deep breath before continuing. "Elijah..im a witch."
Elijah was holding his breath as the words came out of her mouth and he stared at her for a while before biting his lip trying his best not to laugh. "Jo..there is no such thing as witches, What made you come to this conclusion?" He asks not taking anything she has said to be serious.
Josie looks at him and furrows her eyebrows. "Maybe it would be better if i show you." She stands up and closes her eyes before bringing her hands out in front of her as she starts chanting out loud. "Fire, fire, burning bright. Lighting up the darkest night. Powerful and fierce. Never tire, in its flames, We find our fire." As the chant was finished Josie opened her eyes and in each palm of her hand was a small fire flickering against the breeze. She closes her eyes once more and rubs her hands together, putting out the fire. She looks over at Elijah and bites the inside of her cheek.
Elijah stared at her in disbelief. His eyes were wide and he was scared."what- how- when-." He rambled off, trying to find just the right words to say. "Josie, What the fuck is wrong with you...How can you do that?" He asks, standing up from his seat.
Josie looks down at the ground as she knows what is about to happen. "I was born this way Elijah. I just...i just needed the right time to tell you, i couldn't tell you when we first met or a month ago. I needed it to be now." She said and finally looked up at him.
Elijah shook his head and everything around him started spinning, at that moment he knew he needed to get out of there. He began making his way to the door, stumbling as he did.
Josie lifted her arm up, facing the palm of her hand to the door before doing another chant. "Lock the door, stay safe! No leaving, here we'll stay." Just as the chant ended the door slammed shut and locked. "You promised Elijah!" She said as a tear rolled down her cheek.
Elijah was now even more scared but he tried his best not to show it. "Y-you're right, I promised." He said and calmly sat down in a kitchen chair."I just need time to process this, okay?" He said looking up at her. "Give me until tonight and we can talk." He said as he stood up and walked over to her and grabbed her hand. His heart beating out of his chest but not letting it show on the outside that he was truly terrified.
Josie nods in agreement and lets out a small sigh of relief. "Okay, Tonight we can meet back here."
Elijah felt relief rush through his veins as he gave her a kiss on the forehead as a goodbye, trying to act as if nothing was wrong and everything was going to be okay even though he was truly terrified. He turned to the door and unlocked it, throwing it open, he ran out the cabin without a second backwards glance towards Josie.
