Bringing the Energy!

The cheering, the interviews. I can't believe I'm here. Me! A kid from Hight Point, now in the freaking Seven! This is everything I've ever dreamed of and more. I hope they let me keep streaming on Saturdays. Bloodborne is not going to beat itself. I hover through Seven Tower, silently geeking out as I see everything there, the statues, the pictures, the--

"Oof! Sorry, ma'am! I didn't meant to spill yo--" I start, before looking up and seeing who I bumped into.

"It's fine, kid. You're the new guy, right? What's your name, again?" Queen Maeve asks. It takes me a solid 45 seconds to snap out of my trance and respond.

"Oh my gosh, hi! You're Queen Maeve! SO cool! Yeah, I am the new guy, Energon. I don't think you realize how cool it is to meet you." I say, trying with all my strength to contain the geek meltdown that's about to happen.

"Yeah... I'm gonna get another drink."

"Yeah, right, yeah. Sorry about that by the way."

"No problem, kid." She says, walking away from me. She is so awesome. Although, I thought I heard her say something. Something about being eaten alive? Probably my imagination.

It's been super busy for me the last few days. It took a crap ton of convincing, but Ms. Stillwell eventually agreed to let me stream on Saturdays. I like streaming. Keeps me close to regular people. I get to talk to them, laugh with them, and be... human. It's nice. I also have started working on a movie: Energon. My first movie! I can't believe I'm actually in a VCU movie, AND Black Noir is gonna be in it! On top of that I've done a few saves, done a few interviews, and became the face of Powerade. This is everything I have ever wanted. I've never been happier.

I fly high up into the sky, getting a good look of Manhattan from the clouds. I can feel all the energy moving around. The electrical energy from everywhere, the combustion from cars and nearby planes. All of it. It's still so hard to believe I'm here. I am a member of The Seven.

I'm not really the fancy type. But this party or gala or whatever seems important. I want to be playing God of War but no. I have to be here. Surrounded military officials, and congressmen, and political figures, and all that jazz. I stand next Black Noir, making small talk. He doesn't respond but it's still nice to talk to him. He seems to really get me. At least I think. I talk to him about random stuff that pops into my head, just talking. He hasn't left or punched me in the throat yet, so I think he enjoys my presence. I notice Homelander walking somewhere, and I have an urge to follow him. I down the rest of my virgin mai tai, tell Noir it was nice talking to him and follow Homelander.

I follow them up to the Seven's meeting room. Queen Maeve and Ms. Stillwell are there too. They're talking about a highjacked plane in international waters.

"Where?" I butt in. "Let me help." I ask, hoping they'll let me go. Homelander and Stillwell eye each other, seemingly deliberating on letting me go. After what feels like an eternity, they relent and let me in on the mission! Doing a save with Queen Maeve and THE Homelander! Greatest fancy party ever!

We fly up to the plane, Homelander carrying Queen Maeve and I almost can't contain my excitement! I do manage, I mean it'd be weird if I got on the plane all smiles. Homelander opens the door to the plane and a man comes flying out. I chase after him and catch him by his ankle. He's yelling in some foreign language I forgot to study. It feels racist to assume but I think he might be one of the hijackers. I knock him out with a heel to the head and fly him back onto the plane. Maeve and Homelander appear to have already taken out the other hijackers. The passengers applaud for us. Well mostly for Homelander.

"Hey let's give a round of applause for Maeve and Energon!" Homelander says, and I can't help but smile. I thank the passengers, and make sure to let them know how brave they are. I see Maeve and Homelander heading toward the cockpit and I follow. Another hijacker is threatening the co-pilots life.

"Easy there, tiger." Homelander says, but the hijacker shoots the co-pilot anyway. Homelander lasers the hijacker, killing him instantly and inadvertently breaks the controls. Oh dear.

"Can either of you fly a plane?" Maeve asks, trying to grab the yoke.

"Wouldn't matter anyway." Homelander says, pointing to the fried controls. I start to freak out a little. What are we gonna do? How are we going to save these people? I look back at the passengers. I see the little girl with her mom. I'm not going to let her die.

An idea hits me. What if I lifted the plane? It can't be more than 10,000 pounds right? I've lifted that! I can do that! The plane starts to dive. It's now or never. As Maeve and Homelander discuss, I open the passenger door, fly out, close it, and go under the plane. This is gonna take all my strength and push the hull of the plane, straightening it out. Borrowing energy from the plane's engine, I amplify my strength, making sure I have enough to fly the plane to safety.

Some way, somehow, we make it to safety. I haven't the foggiest idea where we are but we made it to an airport. I land on the ground. My muscles are burning, partly from the strain, partly from the combustion I absorbed. Either way my arms are in pain, and I do not like it. The passengers however are overjoyed. They applaud and cheer for me as they exit the plane. I give a weary smile and wave. This ought to get me some major good guy points with The Seven. Not that that matters. I see the little girl and smile at her. I just 123 passengers. Today is a good day. But... where did Maeve and Homelander go? I didn't see them leave the plane.
