Abandoning the small apartment Melisca had stayed for many years in the city, makes her heart ache a little. Though she was not home most of the time because of her assignments that leads her to travel to different places, at least she has someplace to get back to from time to time. It is her safe haven. But now, it's unsafe anymore, as is the city.
Hurrying to put extra clothes in her backpack and money that she had withdrawn before coming back to her place. She would never underestimate the domineering presence of that man. Though not knowing much about werewolves, but such an aura could only belong to an alpha. It only means that he had resources and people to find her in no time. But not that fast if she can help it.
Yanking the bag from the bed and strode to the bedside table, laying a piece of white paper above. Few words she had written on it. Guessing that perhaps there might be people coming to her place.
She fished her phone from her pockets and broke it in half, also her bank cards, so that they can't simply track her whereabouts.
Lastly, the cigarette boxes that she had kept in her drawer from the table, she threw some in her bag and stashed one in her pockets before approaching the door. She turned around, exhaling a long breath of exhaustion while roaming her eyes over for maybe the last time in her little home.
No more time to delay, she switched off the lights and locked the door behind.
Sauntering out of the place, the area is still safe, no one had followed her yet.
She inserted the key to her big bike before putting on the helmet and get on the seat. The motorcycle gloves would protect her hands from the chilling wind of her long ride through the night.
Before starting, she glanced at her wristwatch, it's nine o'clock in the evening. Lucky, the gas tank is full, she won't be stopping to any gasoline station soon. Pressing the button on and revved it up, she kicked the stand and launched on her way to the high road.
How she wished she can fully speed on, but not in the middle of the city, where traffic lights and authorities are around the area. She had enough people chasing after her, the police officers could not be of any help.
She doesn't use her motorcycle often, particularly during missions. She doesn't want anything to happen to it, she loves her big bike. The freedom of riding it solo and the speed as if she, herself, were running on foot.
They might wonder where her files are and no record of her in the system. Well, for the file, Melisca had stolen it years ago. Not really stealing, considering it was hers from the beginning, so she just got it back, without them knowing and she burned the papers. In case she might misplace it somewhere in her place. So she just got rid of it.
For her information in the system, she had paid someone, bigtime, to delete all the data of her. She had already reckoned long before that a situation like this could come. That her murderers had followed her finally. But it isn't them. It's much worst who had found her. Much worst if she couldn't achieve her goal just because a possessive alpha would like her better tied on his bed.
No. Not a freaking chance. Well, at least not now. Not for a very long time maybe. But would likely never.
If it were the killers who were after her earlier, then she won't be running away like this. More like, she'll wait for them to strike. She has no one to lose for the people she cared were already gone. Gone by their hands.
The two persons who her mother referred to as friends, killed her in their house. The hunters' clan which her mom belonged before running away with her mate, her father.
