Happy reading.....
The morning sun bathed the palace gardens in a warm golden light, casting long shadows across the manicured lawns and blooming flower beds. Elara wandered through the labyrinth of pathways, a serene smile gracing her lips as she paused to admire the vibrant blossoms.
Unknown to her, Tristan followed discreetly behind, his heart light with affection and a newfound sense of playfulness. He moved with the quiet grace of a predator stalking its prey, though his intentions were far from predatory. His eyes never strayed from Elara, his admiration for her evident in every step.
Elara turned a corner and found herself facing a particularly breathtaking display of roses in full bloom. She bent down to inhale their sweet fragrance, the delicate petals brushing against her fingertips. Lost in the beauty of the moment, she didn't notice Tristan closing the distance between them.
With a mischievous grin, Tristan quickened his pace and caught up to her in a few swift strides. He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and pressed a gentle kiss to her neck.
"Elara," he murmured, his voice husky with affection.
Startled, Elara let out a soft gasp before turning around in his embrace. Her surprise melted into a tender smile as she looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with love.
"Tristan," she greeted warmly, reaching up to caress his cheek.
Their private moment was interrupted by the sound of soft laughter nearby. Both Tristan and Elara turned to see Queen Selene, Tristan's mother, standing a short distance away, a knowing twinkle in her eyes. She was accompanied by a few ladies-in-waiting who discreetly averted their gazes, respecting the royal couple's privacy.
Selene's laughter bubbled forth, rich and melodious.
"Well, well," she said with a playful lilt in her voice.
"It seems my son has become quite the lovesick puppy, following his queen around like a shadow."
Tristan flushed slightly but couldn't suppress a fond smile.
"Mother," he greeted warmly, releasing Elara but keeping her hand in his.
"I apologize for the intrusion. I couldn't resist."
Selene waved a hand dismissively, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Oh, nonsense, Tristan. It warms my heart to see you both so happy. Love is a precious gift, especially in these uncertain times."
Elara nodded in agreement, her cheeks tinged pink with shy happiness.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," she said softly. "Tristan brings so much joy into my life."
Selene approached them and placed a hand on Elara's shoulder, her expression tender.
"And you bring light into his," she replied warmly. "You have both grown so much since your marriage, and I couldn't be prouder."
Tristan squeezed Elara's hand gently, his gaze never leaving hers. "Thank you, Mother," he said sincerely. "Your blessing means the world to us."
Selene smiled affectionately at them both before gesturing towards a nearby bench.
"Come, let us sit and enjoy the beauty of the gardens together," she suggested. "And perhaps you can tell me of your plans for the kingdom."
As they settled on the bench, Tristan and Elara shared a glance filled with unspoken understanding and love. They knew that their journey together was just beginning, and with Queen Selene's support, they felt more prepared than ever to face whatever challenges awaited them.
