Ava's thoughts were interrupted by a faint whisper in her ear. "Look closer, Ava. The truth is hidden in plain sight." She spun around, but there was no one there. The whisper seemed to come from all around her, echoing off the walls.

She turned back to the message, her eyes scanning it again. And then, she saw it. A small symbol in the corner, a symbol that looked eerily familiar.

Ava's heart raced as she realized the truth. The symbol was the same one that was tattooed on her wrist, a symbol she had gotten on a night she couldn't remember.

Suddenly, the lights in the room flickered again, and Ava felt a cold breeze sweep across her skin. She knew she had to keep searching, had to uncover the secrets that Mr. Blackwood was hiding.

She turned to the others, her eyes locking onto Soren's. "I think I know what the clue is," she whispered. "Follow me."

Without waiting for a response, Ava took off, racing through the mansion, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she was getting close, and could feel it in her bones.

As she turned a corner, she saw it. A door, hidden behind a tapestry. The symbol on her wrist was etched into the door, pulsing with a faint light.

Ava's hand reached out, her heart racing with anticipation. She knew that this was it, the moment of truth.

Ava's hand trembled as she reached for the door handle. She could feel the weight of the symbol on her wrist, pulsing with an otherworldly energy. She knew that once she opened this door, there was no turning back.

With a deep breath, she pushed the door open. A dimly lit room lay before her, the air thick with the scent of old books and dust. Ava's eyes adjusted slowly, and she saw it. A large, leather-bound book lay on a pedestal in the center of the room.

The book was adorned with strange symbols and markings, and it seemed to emanate a faint hum. Ava felt an inexplicable pull towards it, as if the book held the secrets of the universe within its pages.

Suddenly, a voice whispered in her ear. "Welcome, Ava. I see you've found the first piece of the puzzle."

Ava spun around, but there was no one there. The voice seemed to come from the book itself.

"What puzzle?" Ava asked aloud, her voice barely above a whisper.

"The puzzle of your past," the voice replied. "The puzzle of your true identity."

Ava's heart raced as she approached the book. She knew that she had to open it, and had to uncover the secrets within.

With trembling hands, she opened the cover. The pages were blank, except for a single sentence: "The truth lies in the shadows."

Ava's mind reeled as she tried to understand the meaning. But before she could ponder further, the lights in the room flickered and went out. She was plunged into darkness, the only sound of the creaking of the old mansion.

Ava's heart raced as she stood in the darkness, her eyes straining to see. She heard footsteps echoing through the room, heavy and deliberate. Suddenly, a faint light flickered to life, illuminating the space.
