A starry warrior sat on a stone, his gaze solemn as he stared at the sky. Soon, there was a black-and-grey tom who joined him, his own pelt twinkling.

"The time is coming," meowed the first cat, giving the second a distressful glance. "Destruction will rise soon."

He shook his head a little, smiling at the brown tabby soothingly. "Don't worry, Duskstorm. It is still far."

Duskstorm stood up abruptly, his fur bristling as he looked at the black-and-grey tom, fury in his eyes. "That does not matter!" he hissed, "We must alert the fifth Clan of the danger! Rippleclaw, SkyClan will perish if we don't leave a sign."

"That is specifically why we chose the three brothers," Rippleclaw argued, lashing his tail towards a pool of starry water. The image of three toms, one a silver tabby, the other white with grey patches and the third pure white, appeared. They were curled up by a black queen and sleeping peacefully, unaware of what was to come.

The brown tabby stared at the pool with a thoughtful gaze. "White snow will fall from the Clouded skies and the Cold breezes of leaf-bare will be left in its wake," he muttered.

The larger tom nodded approvingly. "This is what SkyClan must figure out," he agreed, "But it is up for the brothers to discover its true meaning."

"Yes. May these cats let their paws walk along the path of the stars for as long as the can," Duskstorm murmured, lifting his muzzle to the purple sky. "For all we can do is watch. StarClan's hunting grounds do not reach to SkyClan. We must to wait for them."

"Let us hope that they will know what to do when the time comes," sighed Rippleclaw, following the former RiverClan medicine cat's gaze, "StarClan cannot help these young cats."
