Could it be you, calling me down?
My foolish heart turns at the stars
All that i am is all that you see
You don't need nobody else
And you're puttin' this all on me, forgive me

Right My Wrongs by Bryson Tiller flowed throughout my apartment as i cleaned up a little.
I planned on cooking me a lil sum until the music paused and my phone started to ring. I knew it had to be nobody but my best friend, Imani, probably wanting me to come over.

"Incoming Facetime call from Mani🩸" Siri said out loud and i picked up.

"Yo what you doing right nie?" her loud mouth ass said as soon as the call connected.

"Just cleaning. why, wassup?"

"Aw shit, well im bored.. and hungry, let's match."

"Igh ill be there inna minute." And with that, i ended the call, got in the car and made my way down. Mani only lived about 10 minutes away so the drive wasn't really nun.

Besides my auntie and my therapist, Imani was the only other person who could get me to talk nonstop to them. I was diagnosed with selective mutism, PTSD, a bipolar disorder, anxiety ,and depression all at the young age of 8 after my aunt started to notice i didn't act like a "normal" kid. She took me to a psychologist and i've been going to therapy and taking different medications ever since.

Mani has been with me through literally everything. When i moved schools she was the only one who would keep me company during recess and in class since everybody thought i was weird because i didn't speak. She was the talker, and i'd listen. Until one day she got fed up and annoyed me with questions until i finally spoke up.

Ironically, my first words to her were "Can you shut the fuck up?" but she didn't seem to mind, she was just happy that i finally talked to her. And ever since that day we were side by side, inseparable, being the bad ass kids that we were.

...

After about 5 more minutes i pulled up to Mani's and walked right in and sat on the couch. Her dumbass never had her door locked.

"HELLO FRIEND" she screaming as she ran down the stairs
