29 June 2024, this date will be etched in the Indian Cricketing history forever. This T20 World Cup was something else. It was a redemption, a win to solidify that we are indeed the best team in the world, that we've what it takes to be world champions and much more.

I remember when the match started, my nerves were buzzing with excitement and quite frankly fear. But I mean can you blame me after we lost 2 back to back finals, and it did NOT help that we lost 3 wickets in quick succession. But then Virat Kohli did what he always does and cricketing world witnessed another masterclass from the king himself. He stood on one side, anchoring the Indian innings while Axar Patel kept the runs coming. Axar hit sixes and fours and never once let us think we are in trouble. Hw batted exceptionally well and kept the run rate high. After he was gone in came Shivam Dube who justified his selection and gave an answer to everyone who was questioning his form. India finished at a string 176 but the game wasn't over yet.

We were able to send back the South African opener early, all thanks to THE JASPRIT BUMRAH, and then Arshdeep got the captain himself, Aiden Markram. Tristan and De Kock kept South Africa steady but thanks to a well executed catch by Kuldeep DE Kock was gone and then Axar got Stubbs. One would think we won the game right? WRONG because in came Henerich Klassen and started hitting the spinners out of the park. There was a time South Africa needed 29 runs in 30 balls and then the ball was passed to Hardik Himanshu Pandya. The same Hardik who was booed by his own fans came out on top and showed why he is the best all rounder India was ever seen.
And who can forget that amazing catch by Surya Kumar Yadav, under the pressure in the final over, catch of the century if you may. And just like that we had the match in our hands.
And when the ever calm and composed Rahul Dravid held the trophy and let his emotions loose, the victory became a whole lot sweeter.

Rohit and Kohli announced their decision to bid farewell to T20 internationals, and though it doesn't feel significant now under the joy of the win, it'll hit hard after a day or two.
But still can't be happier for them, they got the farewell they deserved, leaving behind a legacy no one will ever come close to.
Rohit and company, WELL DONE 👏
