"Haan bhai, jaldi aaye varna hum hi bhabhi ki engagement kisi aur se karwa denge," Avni also screamed, giggling and high-fiving Anuv. But soon their giggles died down when they saw the door open and Ekansh standing tall in the doorway. With a raised eyebrow, he made them gulp and start stuttering.
"B-Bhai... d-dekh sundar lag rahe hain lekin yeh face ko bhi normal rakh le," Avni spoke."Haan, deadly handsome ka concept face-to-face nahi dekhna," Anuv mumbled.
"Kisi aur se engagement karwaoge? Aur kya lagta hai uske baad tum bach paoge? Haan?" Ekansh gave them his infamous killer eye look. Before they could bicker anymore, Avni got a call and excused herself.
"Hello, Avni ma'am. Apke liye koi parcel aaya hai, but the delivery boy is not ready to give it to us. He's asking for you to come to the main gate for verification," the guard spoke.
"Haan, theek hai bhaiya. Main aati hoon," Avni responded without thinking and started moving towards the main gate.
When Avni reached the main gate, the delivery boy handed her a shoe-sized box. As soon as he did, he hastily rode away on his bike. The guards checked the box with a metal detector for safety purposes and then left.
She opened the box, and what she saw inside made her shiver. The box fell from her hands. Bending down with trembling hands, she tried to collect the contents: her white heels, now stained red with blood, and cuffs attached to the anklet area.
