Veer
“So, do you even have any intention about getting married or not?” Dad interrupts before I could just put a bite of Bati in my mouth.
I shrink eyes, tilting my head at Mom, so she will just help to stop the matter. She looks away.
“No Dad, I’m not ready to get married right now,” I explain myself. I continue to focus on food.
“So, you are dating someone, huh?” Dad winks. I’m getting annoyed. I roll my lips. I stare at Mom again.
“Stop it Amar, he’ll get married whenever he’ll be ready,” finally.
“Brother, just do it. You are getting older anyway,” Uday involves his useless words between this useless matter. Directly pointing my age.
“What do you mean by old, I’m just thirty,” I lock my words. “Thirty is not a huge number. And it’s not the age for getting married,” I stamped in my opinion. I don’t care whatever they say.
“Then date someone you like. Do you like someone Son?” Mom switches her side on the Dads side.
“No. I’m not dating anyone, and I don’t like anyone,” I clear my throat. I know I’m lying. And I also know the reason. If I tell them that I like Natasha and I have my eyes on her, they will literally burst into her house with a lot of ‘Shagun’.
Saying that - “Would you marry my son?”
I don’t even want to imagine. They are overexcited for everything, especially for my marriage. And it's the same with me.
We share the same genetics.
“Fine, do whatever you want. But do it before you hit the middle age,” Dad breaks a ridiculous laugh.
“Dad, stop it,” I curl my mouth. They have no patience. All they want me to get married and get well settled for my future, while I’m just imagining my future with Natasha. If my visions are right then I’ll get married soon. With her.
“-eer. Veer,” Dad snap. “Where did you lose?” their faces are at me, gawking at me strangely. I suddenly lost my grip from reality to imagination when I was recalling her memories.
“Nowhere Dad,” I share a bashful smile. Uday is spying my facial expression like he belongs to the CID. And can detect what’s going inside my mind. I give him a quizzical signal, raising an eyebrow.
He smirks in a mischievous way. In response I just avert my sight.
My cell - phone chimes with a slight ring. I peep to take a look who it is. I pick up my phone and walk to the balcony.
