Poppy sat nervously in John's office, the atmosphere heavy with anticipation. Beside her, Branch sat with a reassuring hand on her shoulder, silently conveying his support. John, his demeanor serious and focused, sat across from them, ready to strategize.
"Alright," John began, his voice firm yet calm. "Let's go over everything we have so far."
Branch leaned forward, his expression determined. "We've gathered records of Creek's behavior-his late-night calls, his erratic schedule, and his confrontations with Poppy. even evidence of his aggression from past employers."
Poppy glanced at John, steeling herself as she recounted the unsettling incidents she endured with Creek. "He's become more controlling, questioning my every move. It's suffocating."
John nodded, jotting down notes as he listened attentively. "And you're sure about wanting to proceed with this, Poppy? It won't be easy."
Poppy met his gaze with unwavering determination. "I'm sure. I can't live like this anymore."
Branch placed a reassuring hand over hers, silently offering his support. "We need to gather more evidence-emails, messages, anything that proves his behavior. Then we can approach legal options."
John nodded thoughtfully, already formulating a plan. "I'll coordinate with my contacts to discreetly gather more information. Meanwhile, Poppy, I'll need you to keep documenting everything, especially any threats or intimidation."
Poppy nodded, feeling a sense of relief knowing they were taking concrete steps forward. "I will."
Poppy felt a weight lift off her shoulders as they continued to discuss their strategy. With Branch and John by her side, she finally felt empowered to confront Creek and take back control of her life. This meeting marked the beginning of their fight against Creek's oppressive hold, and she was ready to face whatever came next, knowing she wasn't alone in this battle.
"What about your journal? does that count as evidence as well?"
"I'm not getting rid of my journal," Poppy said looking to branch.
Branch glanced at Poppy with a reassuring smile. "Your journal could be crucial, Poppy. It documents everything from your perspective, your feelings, and your experiences. It can show how Creek's behavior has affected you over time."
John nodded in agreement. "It could serve as supporting evidence, especially if it details specific incidents or threats."
Poppy held her journal tightly, a sense of determination in her eyes. "I've written everything down-the calls, the arguments, how he's made me feel. It's all there."
Branch reached over and squeezed her hand gently. "It's your truth, Poppy. We'll use it to make sure Creek doesn't get away with anything."
John leaned back in his chair, contemplating their next steps. "We'll need to ensure it's protected legally, but it can strengthen our case."
"I don't want to give it up. I want to keep it on me. not until the very end... I'm not giving it to you, I'm sorry," Poppy said looking at John.
John nodded understandingly, his expression thoughtful. "I understand, Poppy. Your journal is personal and important to you. You don't have to hand it over until we need it."
Branch placed a supportive hand on Poppy's shoulder. "We'll work around it, John. There are other ways to build our case without immediately needing the journal."
John nodded again, his gaze steady. "Of course. We'll prioritize gathering other evidence first. When the time comes, we can discuss how best to use your journal."
