TODAY WAS YULE (or christmas) and the Rhodes were spending it with the Potters. Lyra had wanted to spend it with her newfound family but also her best friend. So once she had discovered that her family was to hold a New Year's Ball she had decided to spend that with them and Christmas with James, Euphemia, and Monty.

To say the Potters did things to the extreme was an understatement. Euphemia had spent months planning Yule like she always did. The manor was transformed into a winter wonderland, with garlands of holly and mistletoe hanging from every conceivable place. A towering Yule tree, adorned with sparkling fairy lights and an assortment of magical ornaments, stood proudly in the center of the grand hall. The scent of cinnamon and nutmeg wafted through the air, mingling with the warm, comforting aroma of Euphemia's famous holiday cooking.

Lyra Rhodes stood in awe, her eyes wide with wonder. She had always loved Yule, but celebrating it at the Potter manor was an entirely different experience. She felt a pang of guilt for not spending the holiday with her newfound family, but she knew they would have plenty of time together in the future. This year, she wanted to make memories with her best friend, James, and his welcoming family.

"Lyra, come look at this!" James called from the parlor, where he was examining a collection of enchanted snow globes. Each one depicted a different scene from their favorite Yule tales, and with a gentle shake, the figures inside came to life, acting out their stories.

Lyra hurried over, her long blonde hair bouncing with each step. She admired the intricate details of the snow globes, marveling at the tiny, perfect worlds inside them. "These are incredible," she breathed, reaching out to pick one up.

"Careful, that one's a bit temperamental," James warned with a grin, watching as Lyra gently cradled the snow globe in her hands. It depicted a bustling Yule market, complete with miniature vendors and customers, all moving about in a flurry of activity.

"Of course it is," Lyra laughed, setting it back down carefully. "You Potters really know how to make everything magical. I missed this last year."

James shrugged modestly, but a pleased smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. "It's all Mum, really. She loves making Yule special for everyone, plus she really did miss you last year."

As if on cue, Euphemia Potter appeared in the doorway, wiping her flour-dusted hands on a festive apron. "Are you two ready for the feast? Everything's just about ready, and Monty is finishing up with the decorations in the dining room."

Lyra and James exchanged excited glances before following Euphemia to the dining room. Monty, was levitating a final string of enchanted lights into place. The room was a masterpiece of holiday cheer, with a long, elegant table set for the feast. Each place setting was adorned with a shimmering charm that would reveal a personalized Yule cracker for each guest.
