After dinner, Sakhi and Pihu walked back to their hotel, the air was cool as it was dark already . The streets were quieter now, with only the occasional sound of laughter or music drifting from nearby cafes.
As they strolled along, Pihu turned to Sakhi with a grin. "Guess what? We've booked a houseboat for tomorrow. We'll be staying right on Dal Lake!"
Sakhi's eyes widened with excitement. "Really? That sounds amazing! I’ve always wanted to stay on a houseboat. This trip just keeps getting better."
"I know, right?" Pihu laughed. "I’m so glad you're here to experience it with us. It's going to be so much fun."
The next morning, they had breakfast at the hotel. The anticipation of the day ahead buzzed in the air as they chatted about their plans. After getting ready, they headed to the lake where the houseboat awaited them.
The houseboat was beautifully adorned, with intricate woodwork and vibrant tapestries. As they settled in, the group began to sing songs together, their laughter echoing across the water. They played games, their competitive spirits emerging in friendly banter.
By the time it was 5 PM, they decided to have some evening snacks from the floating market. The view was stunning, with boats filled with fresh produce, flowers, and traditional Kashmiri crafts. The sun cast a golden glow over the lake, creating a picture-perfect scene.
As they enjoyed their snacks, Pihu turned to Sakhi. "Tomorrow, we're heading to Pahalgam. You are going to join us right?"
Sakhi hesitated, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "I've had an amazing time meeting you all and exploring together, but I think I shouldn't interrupt you guys more.I also want to spend a bit more time in Srinagar. There's so much I still want to see here, and I also want to visit Gulmarg."
Pihu looked a little sad. "You didn't interrupt at all. We loved having you with us."
Sakhi smiled warmly. "I’ve loved every moment with you all, but I don’t want to intrude on your college trip. You guys enjoy Pahalgam. It was great meeting you in person."
Pihu nodded, her eyes a little misty. "Okay. I understand. But we’ll miss you."
Sakhi reached out and hugged Pihu tightly. "I’ll miss you too. But we’ll keep in touch, and who knows? Maybe we’ll meet again soon."
They both got a little emotional, feeling the weight of their parting. As the evening wore on, they had dinner together, cherishing their last meal as a group. The conversation was filled with laughter, memories, and promises to stay in touch.
By the time they went to bed. The day had been filled with joy, adventure, and a touch of bittersweet farewell. Sakhi lay down, feeling a mix of gratitude and anticipation for the days ahead. The real adventure had indeed begun, and she was ready for whatever came next.
