season one ౨ৎ episode six
lost girlsZoya Lanstov had not slept for a second, how could she though, there was a guy in her home claiming to be her brother and she was about 69% sure she was an only child and she think she would know if her parents were hiding a secret child in their basement. Her parents weren't cool enough to kidnap a child, and they were never around for her so why would they be there for their secret child.
Zoya was starting to lose her mind, he was still in his room because he has a room now. It was around six in the morning when her eyes almost fluttered shut until she heard a knock on her front door and she got up from in front of her "brother's room" and rushed down the stairs (not really rushing, more like walking in slow motion).
When she reached the door, she was still wiping her eyes to adjust to the sunlight that seemed to be dancing into the room. Of course Elena was the one at her door, she was probably there to annoy Zoya but the girl did not have time for her best friend right now, there's a first time for everything.
"Stefan's a vampire," Elena didn't even wait for Zoya to tell her to come in before she dropped that bomb on her.
Zoya just groaned, opening the door for Elena to come in, "I haven't taken my anti-depressants yet," she walked into the kitchen, ready to make breakfast when she found that the boy had left his room and was now starting to make breakfast, it looked like he was going to make pancakes which was exactly what Zoya was craving.
"So, I found this tape from the 50s and Stefan was in it, like hand on the Bible, he was there and I even brought for you to see." Elena had yet to see the boy because she was too busy scratching in her bag but when she looked up, he was looking right at her and suddenly Zoya was nowhere to be found so Elena was in her best friend's kitchen with a complete stranger.
"Who are you?" She furrowed her brows as the boy stared at her with the same confusion, she was staring at him with. "I'm Zoya's brother, Aidan." He stated bluntly, almost like she was the dumb one for not knowing who he was.
"Where did you come from?" Elena started looking around the house, trying to find Zoya who somehow just disappeared. "Where did I come from? Where did I go?" There was a slight song in the boy's voice now, "If you say cotton eye Joe, I'm going to kill you." The dark-haired girl retorted when she heard Zoya's cowboy boots descending from the stairs, it looked like she brushed her hair now and she was wearing a little pink dress. She smiled at Elena before her eyes darted into the kitchen and her smile dropped.
"Why is that still here?!" Zoya had taken her medication, and she thought the boy would be gone now, she thought he was some kind of hallucination brought onto her because of her not taking her meds. "Who is this?" Elena asked as she handed Zoya the tape she had taken from her bag, the girl was staring at it like she was waiting for it to do something.
"My brother," Zoya shrugged it off, "What is this?"
"Just put it on and see for yourself." Elena watched as Zoya tapped on the tape with a perfectly manicured nail, she did this three times before she looked up at Elena. "I don't know what to do with this," Her voice was soft with embarrassment, her eyes seeming bigger in the moment when Aidan grabbed it from her causing both girls to jump into each other's arms, screaming while the boy stared at them, "What the fuck is wrong with you two?" He walked over to the TV, sliding the tape in somewhere before walking back into the kitchen as the video started playing.
The two girls sat on the couch for ten minutes, eating pancakes and watching the tape when Stefan appeared. "It appears that Stefan might be immortal." Zoya tilted her head and the boy who was sat on the armrest of the couch did the same thing.
"And remember when you saw him get cut on the hand and suddenly, he wasn't bleeding." Elena tried to ignore the elephant in the room, the random brother, "I don't remember that." Zoya shook her head. "At the game, when Tyler and Jeremy were fighting."
"Still don't know what you're talking about, but I do know he's super weird around blood, he always turns his back." Zoya had never thought to question that before, but she never thought that Stefan might be a vampire. "And think about all the girls that have been bitten recently, what if it's Stefan?" Elena asked and now Zoya had to laugh, like straight in her face.
"Why are you laughing? He's literally a vampire, that's what they do." Elena seemed to be very serious about this, "I can buy Stefan being a vampire but not him attacking women in the middle of the night," She started getting off the couch, pacing in front of the couch a bit. "It seems more like something Damon would do."
"What makes you think Damon is a vampire?" Elena asked with genuine curiosity in her voice, "Don't make me slap you, Elena, of course Damon is a vampire, they're brothers." Zoya wondered how Elena could be so stupid from time to time but then again, Zoya was stupid all the time so she couldn't really judge. "Besides, it's more of a Damon thing to do cause Stefan is a sweetheart," Zoya smiled as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"It sounds to me like you're in love with this Stefan guy," Aidan raised his hand when he spoke, like he was asking a question in class before Zoya yelled at him like she was a mean math teacher, "SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU'RE NOT REAL!"
"Okay, crazy," The boy leaned back into his seat, watching the girl lose her mind even more. Zoya, not really knowing what else to do, fell on Elena's lap, her head on her friend's shoulder. "I feel like I'm losing my grasp on reality," She whispered, feeling Elena stroke her hand across her hair as she took soothing breathes. "You're not crazy, babe, I see him too." Elena shifted in her seat to get away from the boy.
"I think it's time to talk to a higher power," Zoya stared, nuzzling her head into Elena's neck.
"God?"
"Grams."
"Makes more sense," Elena retorted when Aidan got up, "Is there anything I can do for you?" He asked, knowing it was his existence along with Stefan's vampirism that was sending Zoya off into the deep end. "I could really use a waffle," Despite just having had breakfast, Zoya was still hungry and before she could tell Aidan what she wanted on her waffle, Elena screamed again as Zoya's eyes shot up and she realized she was holding a waffle in her hand.
"How did that get there?!" Elena asked, watching as Zoya shrugged as she started eating it, "I'm just glad you can see it too."
