A/N: Wanted to know y'all real quick that I made a Tumblr! Since Wattpad's gotten rid of private messaging, and Quotev's also gotten rid of messages, if you have any questions or feedback, you can message me/send in an ask on there. Idk how active I'll be on there tho, so please forgive me if I take a while to respond.

It's been a little over a week since school started. The classes have been easy work so far (even though I know they're going to get harder as time passes), the teachers are cool, and everyone's been nice for the most part. I was accepted into Brandon's group right away, they're all pretty cool. I still haven't hung out with Jesse, but we've been talking a lot too. He can sometimes be a smartass, but he's chill.
I've also made a few other friends beside them. There's Naomi Pierre, the student council president who Jazzy pointed out on the first day. I found out her parents are kind of rich, they work in some big company. But she's not all snobby and in-your-face about it, she's really sweet in fact. Speaking of the student council, I found out Emma is in my Chemistry class, and I've talked to her a couple times. She's not as mean as I've heard people say she was. A bit aloof, sure, but not mean.
There's two other girls I've connected with: Lucy Freeman, a girl in my English class and a member of the school's drama club, and Victoria McAllister, the leader of the drama club. Lucy's a little quiet, but really sweet. She's always kind to our peers, and never has a bad word to say about anyone. I've heard from people that her family's kind of religious, but she's not preachy about it so I don't really care. Victoria, on the other hand, is very outgoing, likes gossip, is a little sassy, and likes attention. Very fitting of a theater kid.
All in all, things have been pretty okay so far. I think I might like this place after all.
I'm currently sitting in Government class, jotting down the last of the notes displayed on the projector board. Our first lesson of the year is the origins of the American government. Normally, I like History, but...this has been kind of boring so far. I glance up at the clock, a half hour left before we're dismissed. Just as I finish writing the last word, I feel a tap on my shoulder.
"Yo, you doing anything tonight?" Jesse asks in a hushed whisper. I look towards the front of the room to make sure the teacher, Ms. O'Connor, isn't looking, then I glance over my shoulder and shake my head. "I'm meeting up with my friends tonight at the diner, you wanna come along?" He continues, and I'm quick to nod in reply.
"Jesse, I'm still teaching. Quiet down, please." Ms. O'Connor reprimands.
"Just askin' for a pencil." He replies, a slight annoyed tone in his voice as he leans back in his chair.
The rest of class passes by slowly. Once the bell rings and I merge with the rest of the crowd, my phone vibrates in my pocket.
J: We're all gonna be there by 6. And don't worry about bringing money, it's my treat (12:41 P.M.)
D: Sweet, I'll be there (12:41 P.M.)
J: :D (12:42 P.M.)
And we have our plans. I've been meaning to check out that diner, I overheard Stephen tell Mom that it's pretty good. Jesse also mentioned his friend group to me when we first met, saying that I'd "fit right in", and I've been curious...

I'm sitting at my desk trying to finish the rest of my Geometry homework when my phone goes off. When I check it, I see that it's ten minutes to five-thirty. Damn, guess I lost track of time. The text's from Jesse.
J: Yo, I'm heading out now. You need a ride? (5:20 P.M.)
D: Nah, I've got a way. See ya there :) (5:21 P.M.)
