I stood in my office along with my sister and cousin, pacing back and forth.I had quite literally just made the stupidest decision of my life. Agreeing to marrying Gabriel Gonzalez's daughter? What is wrong with me.
Apparently her name is Mora and my farther keeps telling me we were good friends as toddlers, obviously before him and Gabriel stopped speaking.
It didn't even matter, just like her farther she was probably obnoxious and constantly bragged.
"Angelo calm down it's only for 18 months, and you know there's good reason behind it" Vincent said in a stupid attempt to calm me down.
"Don't tell me the man who runs the Italian mafia is afraid of having a wife?" Livanna added in.
That only made me angrier. I started ruining this mafia a couple months ago after learning my father was sick and as you can assume this was his idea.
It was smart and would bring us the protection we needed, but at what cost?
I sound so immature , but it's true. Everything aside, the fact of the matter was I needed to do what I have to do.
Suddenly Julie came rushing back in the room along with a frame in her hand."Look what I found" she said out of breath.
It was an old picture, in which stood my mother, farther, aunt, along with the four of us. Beside us were the Gonzalez's and sure enough their youngest daughter and I stood in the middle hugging with huge smiles.
"Definitely look like good friends" Vincent joked making livanna and Julie laugh along with him.
God knows how they found any of this funny. Most likely because they weren't the ones in this situation.
Hundreds of people depending on me as their leader, millions of people around the world watching me, and a family that was rooting on me to take down our threat.
"For my family" I said in my head which fine calmed me down the slightest bit.
It was now later in the evening and I had got intel that men from Cuban mafia were camped around 30 minutes away from us.
Currently, livanna , Vincent and I were seated in a mission truck while Julie was at headquarters listening on comms.
My cousins and sisters were my absolute right hand men. Out of my huge family they had been the ones I'd always been closest with. Truly the only people I'd let my vulnerable side show with.
As far as roles go my sister livanna, she was the bad-ass, she knew had to be seductive, fight, life of the party, and most importantly she was fearless.
My cousin Vincent was the mechanics. He could fix pretty much anything, not to mention his sense of reliability.
Julie was the Brains of every operation. She liked working behind the scenes much more than being hands on but the contributions to my mafia wasn't why I loved them. They were my family, despite being my cousins I still considered Julie and Vincent my siblings. The reason for that was mostly likely because of how close my mother and aunt were.
The fact of the matter is I'd do anything for my siblings, I'd die for them in a god damn heart beat.
"You should be approaching them now" Julie spoke through the our head peace. We were in the middle of the woods.
I pulled the truck over and we all hoped holding our guns close.
Some more of my men followed behind us. "This way" I instructed.
We went deeper into the woods until we stumbled across a singular camouflage tint. "Nothing here."
We searched around the area and found nothing. Fucking nothing.
"We're heading out" I commanded.
After we got home I took a long hot shower in hopes to wash my stress away. Cuba had been sending us all across New York the last couple months and i'd be meeting the woman I was practically forced to marry tomorrow evening, God I could feel the grey hairs starting to grow.
I made sure everything was ready for tomorrow before falling asleep.
