I awake.

My body is throbbing. My blood runs cold and I feel my pulse hammering through my chest. I feel the hard wooden floor against my back: my back, that's covered by the same baggy t-shirt that I've been wearing for a week straight, aches. A sharp ringing cuts through the air, snapping me out of it. The phone. I wearily bring myself to my feet, my legs shaking. I should answer it. The familiar, cold sound of the telephone rings through the air in twos. Ring ring. Ring ring. I pick it up, putting it against my ear hastily.

-Hello? Who is this?

-Oh hello! It's Jane.

My therapist. What could she want now.

-I'm just calling to check up on you. You mentioned in our last session that you've been sleepwalking. Is everything alright?

Sleepwalking? Yes. I remember.

-Oh, well, thank you. I'm okay. See you next week.

Before she could say anything, I put the phone down, the tone ringing in my ears.

I look down, noticing I've left a trail of water behind me. Almost like a snail. I grimace as I come to my senses, noticing that my legs are beaded with water. Shuddering as I feel a cold chill, I turn around to see my door left open a smidge. Dammit. I must've sleepwalked to the pond again.

I flinch as the door suddenly slams shut from the wind. The wind howls from outside, as if taunting me. Thanks, wind. The blistering cold weather outside was unbearable anyway. I slump into my office chair, not caring that I'm sharing my sopping wetness with it. The water slowly spreads through the chair from where I sit, but I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I don't-

I shake my head, turning my computer on.
