"I mean, what even is a rabbit? A squirrel with floppy ears and a pom-pom on its ass? Like, why? What even is that?" Jackie thought out loud as she was making Shaunie's 'bed, folding the old flannel neatly and placing it at the bottom of the box.

"It's a rabbit... What is this question?" Shauna scrunched her face in confusion as she flipped over the pages of her notebook for what must have been the fifth time.

Jackie tucked Shaunie back into his bed and looked at Shauna. "It's Saturday."

"Yeah." More flipping.

"Do you have to study now?" A hint of complaint.

Shauna dropped the notebook to the side and looked back at her friend. "Well..."

"Let's take Shaunie for a walk," Jackie said, leaping onto her feet.

"What? Where?"

"Outside! He needs to see the sun, breathe some fresh air, and smell the fresh grass.

"Jackie, he can't walk yet. His foot is still-" Shauna tried to reason, but Jackie had her mind set already.

"We will carry him in his box! Come on, it will be fun!" She smiled down at the little bunny rabbit and cooed, Won't it, Shaunie?"

"Uhh... I don't know. Is that even safe for him?"

Jackie rolled her eyes at her. "Of course it's safe! He isn't going to get out of the box. If you prefer to stay cooped in on such a beautiful day, however, have at it. We are going out!"

"Fine,I am coming with you." Shauna groaned and stood up from her sitting spot.

"It's cool. You don't have to come if you don't want to." Jackie said, almost dismissively, that the hint of disappointment in her voice was, however, slightly audible.

"I do; I want to." She did. In fact, she didn't want to leave Jackie's side. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever.

"Okay."

"Okay. Um, we could go to the park." Shauna said as she threw on a pair of shoes, and they both made their way downstairs.

"Great! He's going to love it there! Oh, we should get some food; he might get hungry!"

Excitement was written all over Jackie's face, and Shauna couldn't help but smile at her.

They prepared everything they were going to need for their little walk in the park. Jackie made the snacks for Shaunie, while Shauna made some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for them, in case they got hungry too. They packed the stuff in a picnic basket—Jackie had insisted, and she had made Shauna look for one—"There's no way Deb doesn't have a basket around here," and they finally left the house and headed for the park.

It had indeed been a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the pleasant, warm breeze blowing every now and then, and no hint of the previous day's stormy shenanigans. The perfect day for a walk in the park with her no longer best friend. A little bit weird, but Jackie could manage; they were doing this for Shaunie.

"What about over there?" Jackie questioned, furrowing her eyebrows and scratching her head.

"Looks good." Shauna nodded, and they both made their way toward the spot Jackie had picked.

They spread the little blanket they had packed along with their snacks, and after they placed the box in the middle, they plopped down on the ground. A young couple was sitting underneath a tree, and some kids were playing with a frisbee not too far from where they sat.
