Everyday, Luico would march across the forest and back, week after week. He's known the Viridian Forest like the back of his paw, he could never forget which way is which, and where leads to where. Truly, Luico is proven as one the most reliable navigators across the forest lands.
It was a day like no other, Luico would wake up and go about his daily walk through the forest. Though about 2 hours into his walk, he spotted something unusual; A Passage - A Passage he had never seen before. One he didn't recall seeing through all his walks, which occurred odd to him. Luico is very observant, this why he knows Viridian Forest so well. And because he layered the map of the forest within a few weeks, he knew that this passage wasn't here before... At least, he thought, and he was right.
Luico would curiously wander into the passage, stumbling upon an open clearing. There in the center was a bush, and on it was a bunch of berries Luico couldn't recognize. Being the curious soul he was, Luico decided to get a closer look at the unknown berries. Luico inspected the berries, sniffing and eyeing them relentlessly. He decided to pick and eat one of the berries. Once he had eaten the first berry, he took further note of the other berries still on the bush. Luico took note of their uncanny design, puzzled by how and why they appeared like this.
He decided to shrug it off, turning back to the passage exit. As he's walking to leave, he feels something off... like his paw is still sticking to the bush somehow. Curious, he glances behind to a shocking sight; His paw, as he felt, was still clinging to the bush. As for his arm, it seemed like a rubber band, as it stretched over 2ft in the short time he furthered his distance from the mysterious bush. Luico felt himself enter a panic as he began tugging on his arm, trying to free his hand. It works, but it comes flying towards at great speeds, smacking him dead in the face as he stumbles onto the ground.
Luico blinks in stunned silence as his arm retracts back into place, unsure what to think of everything going on. After he had stood up, he starts to flail his arm with no filter, which soon comes back to bite him as his face winds up eating his fist not long afterwards. His arm retracted back into place once more as he stared in deep thought... "What... What is this?" Luico pondered in silence, glancing between his arm and the bush a few couple times. "That bush... It did something, didn't it!" Luico began to walk towards the bush once more, inspecting it closely. He'd continue to glance between his body and the bush, his eyes widening in realization. "When I younger, I heard my father was a brave adventurer who wielded strange powers, and his strength was nearly mythical," Luico sighed. He sat down on the ground, peering into a notebook he pulled out of his bushy tail.
"Gorumo D. Bruffy: The bravest adventurer to ever set his sails from Viridian Forest. Back in 05/19/1982, the Jade Labs association was created. Their goals were to study every Pokémon type there ever was. In 1985-1986, the association had been in heavy work. They had recently finished documenting their knowledge on Ghost-Type Pokémon, a species only found in Lavender Town. However, their work was not yet complete, as they still had one Type of Pokémon to go. Although, this Type is known to be extremely rare, as nobody has even seen one: The Dragon-Type. Jade Labs one day gather all of Viridian Forest together, asking for volunteers to help them with their final piece of research. Gorumo stepped up, his courageous heart aching for a chance at adventure. In 1989, Gorumo set off to find the mythical Dragon-Types." Luico let out a sigh, both of admiration and disappointment. It's been six years since he off, and he hasn't come back since. Luico then stood back up, stretching his arms and legs with a determined look on his face. "If I'm going to be a great adventure like my dad, I must be prepared!" Luico smiled internally, and from that point on, his two month training session had began.
A few months later... (12/27/1995 - 02/27/1996)
Luico wakes up to bright, new sunny day as he exits his house. Letting out a defeated sigh, knowing he wouldn't see this place for a long time. He'd see his neighbor, Cassie, a Butterfree who often rams the forest. "Mornin' Cassie!" He'd greet and gasp, realizing that he spoke as a human would. He would blink a few times, soon shrugging off his speech capabilities.
Cassie nearly choked on her own breath and shock, glancing over to Luico like he's crazy. "U- Uh... Yeah, morning to you too..." Cassie would blink a couple times, still having yet to get over shock as Luico speaks again. "Hey, Cassidy? You know how I said "I want to be a great adventurer, just like my dad"? I think today's the day I set out on my journey." Cassie gasps, this being the first time she's ever heard Luico say her full first name. "Oh, really? Is today really that day? You'll be back, right? You won't be take as long as your father has?" Cassie's voice rings with worry as Luico lets out a giddy laugh. "Of course I wouldn't take as long as my old man! Besides, it's an adventure, not a quest. I'll only chase after a dream if my heart agrees that it's a fitting monarch." Cassie chuckles, stepping aside to let Luico pass through. "I know, just don't take five years to return back home, okay?" Luico giggles, walking past her as he waves her goodbye. "Oh, if there's anything I can promise, it's definitely that!" Cassie would giggle and nod, waving Luico farewell as he walks towards the North Exit of the forest.
Luico makes it to Pewter City, as he wonders around the town. He notices some suspicious looking men in black clothes, their shirts labeled with a peculiar red "R". The duo thrashes about the city with their Pokémon, terrorizing the citizens with every move they make. Luico, not taking a liking to the mens' behaviors, decides to take a stand as he treks over to the men. "Hey!, you lousy depressents! Knock it off!" The two men would look at Luico with surprise and malice. "Well, well! What do we have here? A talking Pikachu?" The first man laughs as the other would sneer. "I bet if we give one to the boss, we'll pay us big time!" The second man chuckles as he and his partner pulls out their Pokeballs. "Zubat! Use Leech Life!", "Nidoran, Horn Attack!" The two Pokémon would appear from the Pokéballs and charges at Luico
. Luico would use Thunder Shock on Zubat as he zips past Nidoran-M, making sure to keep distance between him and the two Pokémon. "Zubat, Leech Life again!", "Nidoran! Horn Attack, chop-chop!" The two men yelled as their Pokémon executed their orders - charging straight for Luico, who dodges their attacks just barely.
"Again!" Both men yelled as their Pokémon dashed towards Luico as such speeds. At that very moment, something snapped within Luico as he reeled his arm back. The two men notice this and begin to laugh mockingly. "What are you gonna do, punch us?" The first man sneered. "Aw, the itty-bitty mouse wants to play boxer!" The second men snorted. Had they not known what the terrible mistake they just made. "Oh!, you want to see a punch?" Luico growled as he cranked his arm back further, as it began to stretch with great speeds.
"I'll show you what a Real punch feels like!" Luico growls menacingly as the two men stare at Luico in shock and fear. "W- What the hell!?" The first men yelled. "What is this thing!?" The second men yelped as Luico began to speak a certain line of words. "Gomu no Gum...." The wind around Luico begins to pick up rapidly as his arm-fist suddenly comes slingshotting towards Zubat and Nidoran-M. His hand becoming shrouded in Electricity. "TASER PISTOL!" Luico screamed as Zubat and Nidoran-M are roughly and swiftly struck by Luico's electric paw, sending the two Pokémon crashing into the ground nearby.
"G- Gah! W- What the hell are you!?" The first man screamed in terror as he returned his Pokémon. "I- I've never seen anything like it... We've gotta bail!" The second man cowardly yelped as he too returned his Pokémon. "You ain't gotta say that twice!" The first man replied as the two men began sprinting into the distance, (Specifically Route 3). Luico chuckles in pride as his arm returns to normal. "That's right!, and don't you come back now, ya hear!?" Luico warns proudly as the men disappear into the distance.
