Indigo League - A Rubber-Chu's journey through Kanto.

Chapter 3 - "Team Rocket returns with reinforcements!"

Luico runs through Route 3, zipping, jumping, and sliding past trees and rocks. He continues to run through the forest-plains, until he bumps into someone. "E- Eh!? It's you again!" The man stammered as he pulls out a Pokéball. "Sandshrew! Use Scratch on that brat!"" Sandshrew would appear from its Pokéball and start slashing its claws at Luico, who proceeds to dodge without question. "Ugh! I don't have time for you!" Luico growled as he slingshotted his fist at Sandshrew, sending it crashing into the man. "I've got better plans than to play song and dance with you bozos!" Luico would say as he jumps over the grounded duo, making his way to Mt. Moon in a hurry. Luico would continue to run towards Mt. Moon when he finds himself cut off by a bunch of Team Rocket Grunts.

 "Look what we have here... A little mouse trying to get past us?" One of the grunts sneer, in which Luico growls. "I don't have time for you guys, shove it!" Luico yelled as the grunts seem surprised, before malice and greedy intent come dripping down their faces. "Oh, a talking one, eh? Well, I wonder how much you'd sell for!" Another grunt laughed, then not a second later - He found himself on the ground, punched by Luico's rubber arm. "I said beat it." Luico warned menacingly, not wanting to deal with the clowns that are Team Rocket.

The other grunts yell and release their Pokémon from their Pokéballs. Before Luico knew it, he found himself standing before a bunch of Rattata, Pidgey, Nidoran-M, Zubat, Geodude, and Mankey. Luico would growl. "So that's how you wanna play, hm?" Luico's eyes spark with anger, annoyance, and determination. "Very well... I'm getting through, whether you like it or not!" Luico yells as anger boils within him. Luico's tail begins to stretch and shape into a hammer. "Gomu no Gum!; Hammer Blitz!" Luico yelled as he dashed through the crowd of Pokémon and Rocket grunts, completely demolishing them all with each hit. He runs past the crowd and successfully makes it to Mt. Moon, where he encounters more Rocket Grunts within the cave. "Looks like I've got a lot more pummeling to do...." Luico growls as he thrashes through the crowd of Rocket Grunts and their Pokémon. After beating most of the grunts, Luico has grown quite a bit stronger from the thrashing-spree.

As Luico wanders through the cave, he comes across two familiar figures. The two grunts he fought back in Pewter City. "So we meet again, eh?, you rotten rodent?" The first man snarls. "Be careful, Brandon. This thing took out all the grunts outside without breaking a sweat." The second man warned Brandon, who scoffs and pulls out a Pokéball. "Don't be a wimp. Just because he beat us once, doesn't it'll happen again! Zubat, Supersonic!" Zubat appears from its Pokéball and lets out a sonic wave of confusion. Luico claps his rubber hands together, creating a sonic boom that cancels out the attack. "Gomu no Gum!; Power Fist!" Luico slingshots his fist towards Zubat, who narrowly dodges as Brandon laughs. "You didn't think we'd learn from the last time?" Luico would smirk knowingly. "...Return to sender!" Luico's arm would suddenly shoot back to him at great speed, catching Zubat in the attack - Throwing it well into the wall behind him. "Gomu no Gum!; Taser Pistols!" Luico yells as both of his arm-fists strike the two grunts in their stomachs, launching them across the cave and through a distant wall. Luico walks in the direction in which he launched the two grunts in.

He finds a man wearing black and gray, tipped with a hat. Luico looks at the man in curiosity and caution, having never seen this man before. This is Giovanni; The leader of Team Rocket, and a dangerous man overall. Beside him stands a cage imprisoning three Pokémon: A Charmander, a Bulbasaur, and a Squirtle. "H- Hey! What are you doing here!? You need to leave!" The Charmander yells, her voice filled with worry. "Are you serious? No way am I backing down from him! With Adventure, comes Obstacles, and in those Obstacles... are Challenges. And he, is one of those challenges." Luico smirks and readies himself for a battle as Giovanni growls. "Another one of you pests? I'll make your demise quick and easy. Nidorino, Rhyhorn! Pulverize this rat with Horn Attack!"

 Nidorino and Rhyhorn charge at Luico quickly, but he doesn't seem worried. "Rubber Shield!" Luico shouts as his tail and arms wrap around him, making Nidorino and Rhyhorn's attacks nearly useless against him. "W- What? What is this nonsense?!" Giovanni stammers as the caged starter Pokémon look at Luico in awe. "Whoa... I've never seen a Pikachu do that before...." Bulbasaur comments, his voice full of wonder and surprise.

 (Meanwhile in Pewter City); Brock and Lance are seen in front of a computer. "What is it you wanted to show me, again?" Lance questioned, wondering why Brock would call him for something 'Important'. "You have to see this, it's quite extraordinary!" Brock says as he replays the Gym Battle that took place in Chapter 2. Lance stares at the screen, wide eyed in shock. "W- What!?... That Pikachu?... How does it do that?" Lance asked as Brock turned to him. "I don't know, but it beat my Pokémon with ease." Lance's eyes widen even more at the revelation, looking back to the screen. "I-... I see. Where did it go last?" Brock shuts off the computer and looks at Lance. "I'm not too sure. But I know that Pikachu is strong... Stronger than any other Pikachu should be." Lance nods and leads to the front door. "I guess I'll be on the lookout, then. You stay safe, alright?" Brock nods as Lance leaves the Gym.

(Meanwhile in Mt. Moon); "Rhyhorn, use Stomp! Nidorino, use Double Kick!" The two Pokémon would try to ram Luico with their attacks, but he uses his rubber-like arms to slingshot himself to the cave ceiling. "Gomu no Gum!; Power Fists!" Luico yells as he slams his stretchy arm-fists into the two Pokémon as he jumps back to the ground. "Use Horn Attack!" Giovanni ordered as the two Pokémon dash towards Luico with quick speed.

 "GOMU NO GUM!; ROCKET DRILL!" Luico screamed as he leaped towards the two Pokémon and began spinning like a drill at rocket speed - zipping through the two Pokémon and landing on his feet. Luico takes a step forwards as the two Pokémon behind him collapse to the ground, unconscious. Giovanni and the starter stood looked in shock. "Get out of here. You don't belong here." Luico warns viciously as Giovanni returns his Pokémon.

"You've won this time, but you'll always lose, no matter how strong you are. Until we meet again." Giovanni said with a voice of venom as he and his men left the cave. Luico would break the locks on the cage with a rubber punch, freeing the starter Pokémon. "Thanks, dude! By the way, who are you?" Squirtle asked, his voice laid-back and chill. "The name's Luico Bruffy!; I'm on an adventure to travel the region, and challenge this "Pokémon League" while I'm at it." Luico said as he and the starter Pokémon walked out of the cave and onto Route 4.

 "Glad I got you out of there! Who knows what that guy would've done to you. By the way, who was he?" Luico asks as Charmander speaks up. "His name is Giovanni, leader of Team Rocket, and a well known criminal throughout Kanto." Luico frowns and nods. "Well, I'm off to the next town over. Wanna join?" Luico offers as the starter Pokémon smile. "Heck yeah! Let's go!" Bulbasaur cheers as the group heads off to Cerulean City.
