Me and Marcus have been wandering alongside each other for the past few days. Throughout those days he proved that I could trust him and that he trusted me. We walked empty roads in search for any town or city. After days and miles of waking we came across another city but it was filled with lurkers. Marcus thought of an idea of distracting them by creating a bang on the opposite side of the city or far enough to get supplies.

"Alice, we could make some noise over there!" Marcus had said as he pointed at a tall building with a small amount of lurkers. "or an explosion. Do you have a bomb or something? Something to make noise and an explosion?" He looked at me in a curious manner as he raised his eyebrow. His tan skin was hard to ignore in the shade of the trees with little sun rays peeking through the leaves and shining on his skin. Marcus cleared his throat and caught my attention as I snapped myself out of my delusions and looked at him. "I don't think so but I'll check." I said to him before I took off my backpack and began searching.

"I don't but we should find somewhere to stay because it looks like it's going rain." Marcus looked at the dark clouds rolling in then looking at me and nodding. I put everything I took out back in the bag and zipped it together then putting it on before we began searching. The sky became dark quick as small water droplets began to fall on us.

"What if we just find a big enough tree to use?" Marcus asked as we took shelter by a nearby tree. "Well I think that chance is out the window." I said before a loud thunder happened and the rain began to pick up.

A few hours went by and we had made a spot where it wasn't completely wet but it was still wet. It was next to a tree and we had a small tarp over us and a very thin and small pillow. The sun had set and it was completely dark without the moonlight. We were vulnerable to lurkers so one of us stayed up to look out while the other one could rest.

Marcus took the first duty mostly because he insisted on it. "Alice, it's fine. I can handle looking out for a few hours." Marcus said as he looked at me knowingly before I sighed and reluctantly agreed. "Fine. The lantern is the big pocket if you need it." I said to him before laying down and resting my head on the thin pillow against the tree root with my back turned Marcus.

"Goodnight Marcus." "Goodnight Alice."

I closed my eyes and my slumber took me into a fake reality. While Marcus looked after me so I could sleep peacefully...

My bad this would've came out sooner but I didn't know what to write. I can't say when chapter 3 will be out so. Also sorry this was short.
