✨️First Person POV✨️

You had just graduated. Congratulations! You're done with high school! The only problem is... what now? You've graduated, sure, but you're 18, have no job, one friend that you barely see, trapped inside your bedroom with no ambition or drive to do anything.

One late evening on a random Saturday in summer, you decide it's time to at least go outside. You put on loose-fitting sweatpants, sneakers, and a thin long-sleeved shirt.

"Bye, mama!" You say as you walk out the front door, still unsure of where to go.

You start walking through your neighborhood since it's big and much safer than trying to walk somewhere you don't know. The residents here are a bit older, mostly elderly couples who never leave the house.

Walking past an average-looking house, you spot a tall man watering his grass. He catches your eye because he's standing close to the light coming from his window. He's tall, but you can't see much of his facial features from the distance you're at. Walking a little closer, but still on the opposite side of the street, you see he's starting to grey a bit but he has a full head of hair, he's surprisingly muscular so you assume he must not be that old, and he's wearing a white shirt and black sweatpants. His beard looks like it's trimmed, and you spot his glasses on his shirt collar.

After standing there staring for what seems like ages, he looks up and you panic as he looks at you. He smiles and throws up his hand, waving to you briefly before turning again and continuing to water his lawn. You hesitantly wave back, trying not to be awkward, and you continue your walk until you loop back home.

"How was the walk, love?" Your mother asks when you return home.

"It was great, Mom." You say, sounding somewhat happy

Tonight might be over, but you have all summer to take walks like this again. Maybe finally meet this stranger who waved at you.
