Jennie entered into the study and gazed at Francis for a moment smiling warmly. How lucky was her to have him as a father. He might not be her real father, but he is more than a father to Jennie. He has shaped her into a strong and independent girl who can survive by herself.
"You are working overtime Francy." Jennie went towards him and closed the file he was reading.
"I have no choice. Your cousin shoved all his responsibilities and now touring in Europe." Francis tried to snatch the file but the stubborn child cut him off.
"That annoying brother. I will give him a good beating for making you work overtime once he is back." A knock was heard from outside and uncle Caleb entered into the room.
"Max Lee has sent an invitation to her daughter's birthday. Should I decline?" He questioned.
"Uncle Caleb, do you have to ask? it's a clear no." She still doesn't understand why that person always pesters them even if they don't acknowledge him and how many times that jackass will marry. This is his third marriage. God knows what all diseases he got transmitted with. His wife is poop and his daughter is a poop head. What a douchebag family.
"Accept it," Francis proposed.
"Why do we want to go to that poop head's birthday." She doesn't understand how her Francy's mind works sometimes.
"Jennie, language. Where are you learning all these words." Francis reprimanded her and Jennie pouted.
"He always degrades you and don't you want to take a little revenge on him. If not for you, you should at least go for your mom and teach him a lesson." Jennie did not like the idea of going but she reluctantly agreed when she heard about her mom.
"Alright. It's late now. Stay here for the night. You can go directly to OA tomorrow." Francis informed looking at the wall clock
"I hate traveling in the mornings and I don't like staying_"
"Fine then. I brought a dress you asked when I went to Paris last week. Looks like I don't need to give you now." He looked at her excitement the moment she heard about the dress and laughed internally. The only way to lure her is through her favorite dresses.
"What are you talking Francy!" Jennie exclaimed. " I would love to stay here."
"But you hate traveling in the mornings right?"
"No. I am a morning person and I love them. Now tell me where did you keep my dress." She was getting impatient to see that fabric. Will it fit in me? of course, I have an amazing body right.
"It's in your bedrooms walk-in cl_" Before he could finish Jennie rushed into her room. Both Francis and Caleb were laughing at the rushing figure.
"How is Heather Francis?" Caleb questioned seeing Jennie is not here.
"She is fine and there is a chance she may wake up soon." He was anticipating seeing her happy face again.
"Did you find any clue on how the car got tampered?"
"Dead end. Looks like the person who has done this vanished into a thin air. There is no clue about him or her." Francis always gets a hold of a person from any corner even they are lurking in shadows. But this person has planned perfectly everything without leaving any clues.
"Do you suspect Max?" He questioned.
"He would be rotting in hell by now if he is the one." His foolish cousin is not even capable of hiding a day if he had really committed the crime.
"We have to find the person out before they make a move on heather again." Francis determined to catch that person at any cost.
"By the way, Are you really going to the party?" Caleb asked sitting on a chair.
"I am not. Only Jennie." Francis pressed.
"How can you send her alone Francis? What if something happens to her there?" Now he was having a second thought to accept the invitation.
"Someone is going to be her date." Francis viciously smiled and looked at Caleb.
"You sly fox. If she knows about it, you are done." Caleb chuckled. Even though Caleb works for him, Francis always treated him as a brother and they talk with each other like friends.
"She will never know unless you unzip your mouth." He is afraid that his annoying friend would vomit out everything in excitement and ruin his plans.
"Will he agree? They don't even know each other." Caleb excitedly asked. He always liked that boy for little Jennie since they were young but Francis did not let him meet Jennie after that one incident. He really pitied that small boy.
"There is still over a month for the event. I have enough time to introduce each other." Francis was mentally making a note to contact Frederick.
"By the way, I heard Lucas Richard from Richards family was taken away by police for committing a.d.u.l.tery at a hotel." Caleb was looking intently at his friend, but he is clearly hiding his expression.
"Why are you telling me this?" Francis lazily commented.
"Because it happened after he had an encounter with Jennie."
"I don't know what you are talking about." Francis walked out of the room before he could be caught.
"I really pity Little Jennie's future husband Francis" Caleb murmured. He still remembered the day Jennie was born, Francis had held her tiny self with his own hands, and from the day one, he always doted on her. He even made her study in a famous all-girls school shooing all the boys away from her. He wanted her to solely focus on studies without any distractions. Even though she did not mind, she threw a tantrum when he had planned for the same to her university also. He reluctantly agreed with her choice when she did not eat for the entire day. He has already set his eyes on certain someone for her and he was planning to amend a marriage alliance between the two when the time comes, but who would have thought she would fall in love with some bastard in her university and to annoy him she has even protected him much to his knowledge until that accident.
