" my bloodline is
irrelevant to my value " .

"When you value nothing you will value everything". - King Theron Velkyri

King Theron Velkyri could be seen as a cruel man who only cared about making a kingdom of warriors. Others say he was mad, stricken with grief by the death of his first wife. Nyrah

Whichever one it was, King Theron was a stern, and honest leader who always protected his people, the same treatment could not be said for his children.

When a letter came from Kings Landing by Viserys Targaryen, the King of mighty House Targaryen. Theron was outraged, the Targaryens and Velkyris  have had a feud with one another since the time of Old Valyria.

The Targaryens viewed them as blood thirsty savages, who used blood magic to win every battle. While Velkyri's viewed the Targaryens as false kings, who use their dragons for power, and to install fear in their people.

Both houses were right in a sense, the Velkyri did use blood magic, not to win their wars, or control people. No, the only time the dark magic was used was after the birth of a new royal.

Once a babe is born, the mother of the child and a mage performed a spell, the binding of babe, and dragon egg by blood. They say there is no stronger bond than a child and its mother, but a blood bond between dragon and rider rivals that.

If the dragon egg does not hatch after the binding is complete, it means the babe is not worthy and they will be sent away to be useful elsewhere in the Kingdom.

It may seem cruel, sending an innocent away for something they can't control, but it was the way of their house.

The Targaryen's were known for their obsession with dragons, and claiming dragons who have already had a rider. Usurping the throne from rightful heirs, and thinking they are better than their subjects.

A joke of a great house in Velkyri standards.

After reading the letter the King thought of throwing the parchment in the fire, wishing to never lay his eyes on it again. Like he has with every other letter he has received from them, as he was about to drop it in.

The fire suddenly diminished, turning to nothing but smoke, scowling at the message from the gods he rips the thing open.

"A peace treaty!?". He yells outraged. Looking into the embers of his fireplace.

A single spark flew up, and landed underneath the word daughter. Theron felt his rage leave, as a gush of wind made the papers on his desk rustle together.

Continuing to read the letter, he subconsciously paces in his office, finding himself standing in front of his window looking down at the courtyard.

"Let us bind our kingdoms, a bond between daughters, and heirs, for maybe they will lift the ever lasting divide between our great houses".

Looking down, he finds his turquoise eyes glued on his eldest, and heir to his throne, Makaria. The only worthy child of his first wife, sword in hand, she fought against her half siblings.

Disarming them all one by one, he tightens his hand around the letter, feeling another gush of wind he sneers. Meeting an identical pair of turquoise eyes he storms away from the window, preparing to write his response to Viserys Targaryen.
