6 - Robber Named Rob

Rob was someone whom everyone in the apartment complex knew. He was the lonely guy who was living in the house next to the apartment building. Everyday he'd sit on his porch and watch people depart and watch kids walk to school.

Some people think Rob's only reason for watching kids walk to school was because he was a pervert. Others thought it was because he never married, therefore never had kids. No one actually knew the real reason.

...

It was a cloudy day in the apartment. Was it cloudy outside? Not really, but Jake and Reed decided to cook dinner for once. At first it was going well but when Jake added one too many eggs and Reed decided to set in on high so it would 'cook faster' everything went to shit.

Alyssa and Izzy walked into the room, coughing. Behind them came in Sage, Matt, and Devin. Smoke filled the apartment, causing everyone to cough.

"Reed, you dumbass!" Izzy coughed, waving her hand in the direction of the smoke, "We're going to die-"

The front door suddenly opened and a guy stood there, holding a gun.

Jake's first reaction was to run to Alyssa and stand in front of her, while everyone else panicked and out their hands up.

Suddenly, Gareki ran out and stood in front of the crowd. A gunshot went off and Gareki fell to the ground.

It was silent.

The room was quiet.

"Gareki!" Matt yelled, taking a step forward. Sage grabbed Matt's arm and pulled him into his arms.

"Matt," Sage whispered, "Be quiet."

Gareki stood up and pulled a pizza vest out from under her shirt.

The pizza vest was...ruined.

The robber stood there, looking around the room. A second later, and he started crying. Ugly sobs filled the smokey apartment, and the awful smell of burnt pancakes also filled the room.

"Umm," Alyssa awkwardly poked Jake, who was standing in front of her with his arms out, "Thanks for protecting me but I'm good now."

"ROB?" Devin yelled, taking a step over the crying Gareki, who was holding onto her pizza vest, "Rob, what are you doing man?"

Rob continues his ugly sobbing and wiped snot onto his hand, "I-"

"Rob?"

The room was quiet again, a girl in her early thirties was standing there. She had a confused look on her face as she walked up to Rob and touched his shoulder.

"Rob, what are you doing here?"

"What. The. Fuck," Reed whispered, leaving towards Izzy and coughing, "I thought Rob was single."

Izzy coughed, "Reed, their probably brother and sister."

The women smiled, "Rob is my brother. I apologize, he, he's uh, not in good health. Tomorrow they're taking him to the 'insane asylum' nasty name."

Rob grabbed onto his sister and sobbed.

"He's not crazy, "the girl sighed, "he's just old, and likes to hurt people."

"What. The. Fuck?" Reed whispered to Izzy again.

"If you'll excuse us," the women mumbled, carrying Rob out of the apartment.

Everyone stood, shocked. Sage was still holding Matt, for some odd reason. Gareki was clutching her pizza vest, still crying. Devin was shuffling his feet, staring at the door where Rob had once stood. Jake was still standing in front of Alyssa, smirking like he was a hero. Reed and Izzy stood in the kitchen, ignoring the smoke.

"SAGE, WHY ARE YOU HOLDING ME?" Matt yelled.

"HAHA, DRINK BLEACH FAGGOT!" Reed yelled, throwing a oven mitt at Matt.
