CHAPTER TWOOOOOO
Nico's POV:
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I groan and throw a pillow at my stupid alarm clock.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I swear to Gods! I jump out of bed, grab the annoying clock and chuck it out the window. "Oops." I mumble. "NICO! ARE YOU SERIOUSLY JUST GETTING UP NOW?! GET READY FOR SCHOOL!" Hazel yells up at me "WE HAVE TO LEAVE IN HALF AN HOUR!" My eyes widen when I remember we start school today. "Shit!" I completely forgot! How did I forget? "K!" I yell back. Then I run to my closet and yank out a band hoodie and a pair of ripped black skinny jeans. I throw them on faster then you can say 'what an ugly outfit' and speed walk to the bathroom where I brush my teeth and splash cold water on my face. I quickly apply concealer to my black eye and rush down the stairs. Hazel's in the kitchen eating cereal. "Look who's finally up" She says sarcastically. I glare at her "how do you have an attitude this early in the morning" I grumble. She laughs "Nico, you can't be talking. You ALWAYS have an attitude."
I scoff and put my bag by the door. Then I join Hazel at the table. She gestures to her bowl "do you want any food before we leave?" I shake my head. She looks at me with a raised eyebrow. "I ate a bunch of food last night." I lie. I wasn't hungry last night anyways. Hazel shrugs. "Okay, I'm gonna finish eating really quick, then we can go."
After I struggle to lace up my converse, me and Hazel walk out the door and onto the street. It's annoyingly sunny out today, adding to my miserable mood. I pull my hood up. "Nico why are you wearing a hoodie today? It's 80 degrees out." Hazel asks. I glare at her "why do you think?" I mumble. She flushes "Oh sorry I forgot!" Then she thinks for a moment before saying "Well the bandages could be a fashion statement? They would fit in with your whole- well emo look!" I huff. "Wow, emo look? Doesn't that require, I dunno eyeliner or something?" Hazel shrugs "Don't ask me, I'm not emo like you."
I roll my eyes, and look away from her. I notice a tall blond kid up ahead, He's wearing a backpack too so I assume he's walking to school like me and Hazel. He's wearing khaki shorts and a blue flannel, he looks like he would be a surfer or something. He seems to feel my gaze, because he suddenly looks back at me. His eyes are so blue they are almost the exact same shade as the sky. From where I am, I think I can see a faint spattering of freckles. I don't know what to do so I wave awkwardly. He smiles, showing his pearly white teeth and waves back. My heart does a weird flippy thing and I quickly look away. What the fuck was that? Hazel elbows me. "Being social already? I'm so proud!" She wipes away fake tears and I smack her shoulder lightly. "Shut up" I mumble. She starts rambling on and on about how far I've come and I tune her out. Eventually the school comes into view. Hazel squeals. "Aren't you so excited? We get to make new friends, try new things, it's gonna be great!" I shrug. I know I'm not making friends anytime soon, and I hate trying new things. But that doesn't matter, as long as Hazel's happy. Hazel walks up the stairs excitedly. She pushes the door open and waits for me. Then we go into the main office to get our schedules and stuff. The lady at the desk smiles at us and asks for our names before handing us each a sheet of paper. "Thats your schedule! It also has your locker number and combination." She hands us another piece of paper. "And this is a map of the school, just incase you need it. Have a good day you two!" Hazel thanks her and I nod. When we're out of the room, I look over my schedule:
