{M} Sabre POV:

My stomach still hurt with a dull ache and the varying abrasions I had stung lightly, but the pain was tolerable. My head, however, was still pounding from when my captor had kicked me. The pain made it difficult to think clearly and focus.

My sense of time was nonexistent, and being underground for so long with no view of the sky was disorienting. I had no idea if it was day or night, nor how much time had passed since I blacked out. It could be anywhere from seconds to hours, and I had no way to know.

Suddenly, the room I was in rumbled, some dust rising as the ground and walls trembled from some unseen force. Then, out of nowhere, the floor dropped from beneath me, causing me to free-fall for a few moments. I landed miraculously on my feet on a new floor, now in a room made small by a division of it in the center. A thick wall of stained glass cut the room in exactly half, allowing me to see into what I expected to be an empty half of the room or perhaps some obscure torture machine. Instead, I saw a familiar face with eyes sporting heterochromia.

"Sky!!" I ran up to the glass, slamming on it with my hands to attempt breaking it.

Sky did the same thing, but even our combined attack did nothing to the strange glass. "Sabre...!! What did he do to you...?!" I could tell she was yelling from the other side, but the glass muffled a significant amount of her volume and voice quality.

Then, her eyes went wide as she stared in horror at something behind me. I turned, my breath hitching as I came face to face with a familiar form of the Darkness. It looked to be the very one Sky had saved the Nightmare King from. I swore under my breath, backing away slowly in terror until I was pressed up against the glass wall.

I could hear Sky yelling something as she pounded on the glass behind me to my right. Adrenaline and fear made me shaky as I stupidly put up my fists in desperation. I knew I wouldn't be able to fight my way out of here, but it looked like I didn't have any choice.

The pounding on the glass got louder, adding to my headache as I heard it begin to crack. Is she breaking it with her bare hands?! The Darkness began to slowly approach, dragging a long and sharp extension of itself. The claw-like extension screeched along the solid iron floor, making my head feel like it was about to explode. The moment the Darkness lunged at me, glass shattered loudly.

The loud noises were hurting so much that the world was beginning to spin. In a blur of movement that my mind was too pained to focus on, Sky tackled the Darkness at full force. The room was small enough for her and it to reach the wall. She grabbed the Darkness with one hand and lifted it off of the ground, pressing it hard against the wall. Except it wasn't the Darkness.

Closing my eyes and pinching the bridge of my nose, I fought against the pain of my headache. I opened my eyes to find that I was not mistaken. It had never been the Darkness. A sword was lying abandoned on the floor beside my captor. Sky had him by the throat, screaming at him. My mind was a fog, but I believe I heard her curse something.

"-going to die, you worthless-" Sky didn't finish, letting out a shout of anger instead.

She glanced back at me. I was frightened by the sight of her expression. I had never seen such murderous fury in her eyes, which was dangerously impressive. I had seen her angry before, but never like this. She looked like she would kill my captor with her bare hands. I hated him, and admittedly would do the deed myself, but something inside me told me I had to stop her. Murder isn't the answer. Murder is never the answer.
