Gojo checks his phone after his last class of the day ends, making his way down the halls as a mass of students pour out from their classes. It's Friday, and the promise from the day before is fresh within his mind. He cracks a giddy smile as he opens his phone, ready to text Sukuna.
Everything was working out smoothly and according to plan. After Shoko had given him the information to Sukuna's morning class, transferring into it had been a piece of cake. All he had to do was make up some random bullshit, which he didn't even need to do because he's Gojo. The principal was already on his knees, ready to lick his shoes just to get on his good side.
He thinks back on the way Sukuna had looked at him, and he can't help but smile to himself. There's a thrill to it. Chasing after someone who shows absolutely no interest, looking down upon him like he wasn't worth the time. Which Gojo would prove wrong soon enough, because he was definitely worth every single second.
It's the first time someone showed absolutely no interest in him romantically. While others would immediately go red and awkward at his flirty comments, Sukuna retained his cool composure like it was natural. Sure, he'd laugh and grin at times, but that was only when he was poking fun at Gojo. He'd have his hands in his pockets as he'd stare at him with a nonchalant expression, and it never failed to fill his stomach with unwanted butterflies.
It was the very expression he wanted to break down. He wanted to see that unimpressed face crack under his touch, to melt off that cold exterior...
And he's crashing off the tracks.
Well, who knows? Maybe Sukuna was exceptionally good at hiding his interest!
Who was he kidding? Of course not. It's clear Sukuna's making him work for it. And Gojo's not going to give up so easily.
So he opens up his chat with Sukuna, heart picking up pace as his fingers hover excitedly over the keyboard. The other man hadn't texted him yet. Guess he'll have to text something first.
After writing a few words, he grumbles in frustration, deleting it. Then he repeats the cycle again until an idea lights up in his head. He types it in before hitting the blue send button confidently.
4:50 PM [You]: What time are we going? (^u^)
Simple enough. He had already received all the information he needed about the takeover from Shoko beforehand, but he would rather act dumb as an excuse to start a conversation without seeming awkward.
All he has to do is wait now. He stares down at his phone impatiently, tapping his foot while standing next to the men's restroom in the hallway. Five minutes pass, which turns to ten, and eventually becomes twenty.
Satoru's about to combust into pieces if he doesn't get an answer soon. After mulling about it for a while with a pout on his face, he ends up shoving his phone in his pocket and turning to leave. He'd better get ready at his dorm while he waits instead of torturing himself any further. Sukuna had to be busy. Aside from his friends, nobody had ever taken any longer than five minutes to reply to his text.
Why? Because he's Satoru Gojo. Life is easy when he's so perfect all the damn time. If he plays today's game plan right without messing up, then he would make Sukuna realize that too, no problem.
As he finally climbs up the stairs to his dorm and walks up to the door, his phone vibrates in his back pocket. An immediate jolt of surprise flashes down his spine and he hurriedly pulls it out.
It's a notification from Sukuna. So he immediately swipes his phone open to the reply.
5:20 PM [Sukuna]: 8 PM.
